I don't really think he is one of the cat "species" being he is man-made, he is however, a beautiful freak, this sort of cross breeding shouldn't be done, man needs to stop screwing with nature....

I agree with the last post. While he is quite beautiful I think that man is screwing too much with nature. Right now they are even deforming mice to see if they can grow extra parts to donate to humans! I saw a picture of a mouse with an ear growing out of it's back! It was awful!

Already they are starting to figure out how to change a babies hair color and eyes and such when they are in the womb. How awful...hand made babies. If anyone should choose it should be yoursef, not others. Pretty soon babies are going to start being sold on shelves.... What idiocy.

I agree Bigcat Rescue, Tippi Hedren has one at her preserve that she rescued. The animals themselves would never cross breed, therefor is done artificially. As far as I know the only animals the cross the subspecies barrier is the canines and the hooved such as zebra, donkey, horse.

Thanks for your comment, Christian. I agree!

There are many animals that are hybridized...

I agree ligers are not a species and niether is "cat". Maybe they should should just have said "world's largest cat"
I also agree that he's beautiful!
Not sure about lions and tigers never crossing naturally. I was pretty sure they did in captivity when none of their own species were available. There would be very little evidence if it happened in the wild - a new mate of the mother would probably kill a crossbreed (or any other) cub and lots of cubs don't live long enough to be spotted by humans.
