For me, this article is very encouraging for future exploits into space. It is only reasonable on an economic standpoint in countries pulling together in joint ventures, but more importantly, a message is cast that this is the endeavor of mankind, not just one particular country.

Just to think that this joint venture could accelerate the reality of man leaving his footprints on Mar's surface is invigorating to my senses.

I know there are those that will proclaim that any amount of money spent on space exploration is money wasted when it could have been better spent down here on Earth's firma terra.

But I gotta tell ya, if somehow we don't make our own species become extinct through our warring, space is our future home and whatever lies out there, it would be nice to know how many bedrooms there are in that new home and the sooner the better off for us all...
