- OF COURSE.
It's not as if you had to be depressive to be depressed, these days; and i'd actually go so far as to suggest that --given the current state of Eaarth and humankind-- anyone who is contended or pleased must be either a total idiot a/o deep in denial, or an utter hypocrite.

PS: *my* personal way to deal with that is excpressed by the following quotes:

" And if they suck us all down? {probability of which has increased considerably since this was written} Then I will perish in the awareness: I have lived my life, I have not relinquished it to the Idiots and Criminals. I have resisted to the last. [my amateur. transl.; Orig.:] Und wenn sie uns alle mit in den Strudel reissen? Dann will ich zugrundegehen im Bewusstsein: Ich habe mein Leben gelebt, ich habe es nicht den Idioten und Kriminellen überlassen. Ich habe mich gewehrt bis zuletzt. " -- Hans A. Pestalozzi "Auf die Bäume ihr Affen [Up into the Trees You Apes]" (1989) ISBN 3729603132 S.346

" The only way to deal with an unfree [cruel, insane, ...] world is to become so free [compassionate, centered, ...] that your very existence is an act of rebellion. " -- Albert Camus (1913-1960)

" Insanity is part of the times. You must learn to embrace the madness. Let it fire you. " -- JMS & L.G.DiTillio; Babylon 5, #2.17

Always difficult to fight depression when we see the abuse, read about the torture, murder of people, pets and wildlife, when we can see the rape of our land, the poisoning of our fresh water, and the air pollution. When we read about seeming normal people voting for the Religous Extremists and following the Big Baddies...Yes, it's depressing, especially when my own mom is one of those deluded.
