A wild male marmoset has been seen and filmed embracing and caring for his dying partner. The female monkey accidently fell from a tree in the forests of Brazil and the male comforted her as she lay dying.

Animals are often more compassionate than people.

My heart breaks. Animals know pain and joy and have probably more compassion than humans do.

Wish the group watching for years could have helped her! Hope the young ones are ok as the male left.

Emotion and relationship are not exclusive to the human; treasure every life

The bad part is that these people did nothing to help that poor animal, they just looked on and let her die in pain, that is not being humane!

I'm not surprised at this emotion but would be surprised that people thought this impossible form these animals.

Interesting. Animals feel and have feeling like humans and this should be no surprise to anyone.

The compassion that our animal cousins experience, is something that humans have not yet learned to comprehend.
Hopefully, it will happen one of these day.

Thanks for sharing. It's a heart-warming story of love and compassion. The female marmoset had the company of her male partner till she died, and he truly comforted her. It's good that the researchers have taken a lot of interest in studying the behaviour of the marmosets.
