On the Manly Ferry to the city Novak Tonkin Zeus is 15-years-old, deaf and blind. His owner isn't ready to just let him die yet though. Instead he is taking Zeus on an adventure, traveling all around Australia

How sweet.
I hope he maps out his travels so folks on the roads know to watch out for him. Maybe make a bucket list video for Zeus. haha

Thanks Kelly :")

Zeus might do better at home with lots of love, rest, good food and fresh water.

Shame, what a nice gesture. It is heartbreaking to know that this might be his last adventure.

I wonder if Joseph ever had a dog before Zeus, because if so he'd probably know that an aged 15-year old dog, especially deaf and partially blind, usually would prefer a comfortable bed in a warm room, with perhaps a garden to sniff around when he feels the call of Nature. I'm sure Joseph's sentiments are pure but it seems a little selfish to me to drag Zeus around in a cart in all weathers with little regard for his age and handicaps. It must at times be a bumpy ride, dusty and hot, not at all the restful haven I'd guess Zeus longs for.

Well Sam, Marie, you're correct but there's a lot of love here and a human desire to ease the inevitable transition.

I don't dispute the owner's love, but an elderly deaf and blind animal would prefer the comfort of familiar surroundings...

I absolutely love this heartwarming story - so touching! I can understand why his owner, Joseph, wants to spend some quality time with his beloved dog when, in turn, Zeus, throughout his 15 years, has always been there for him! Even though this lovely dog is both deaf and blind, he is atune to his owner and knows full well that his owner is forever close by, never to leave his side! Security in this knowledge leaves Zeus free to enjoy this exciting adventure, the sensations, the smells and the breeze blowing though his fur!! A one to one experience with the owner he has loved so very much and an experience that only the will shared! Truly Beautiful - Truly Inspirational! Thank you Kelly for posting xx
