Noted & Voted No. But something has to be done with the amount of Kangaroo's there are. Like the Brumby's. They should work out a humane way to control the numbers. Then you wouldn't have this type of thing going on, like now. Getting them together & tranquillizing them, then shooting them, to me is not the way. It should be looked into. Thanks Pam.

Definitely voted a big fat NO, Pam. How can they go and kill their national emblem so proudly displayed on the Australian flag??? Just does not make sense. Saw the demonstrations etc on Australian TV channel which I can watch here. It's absolutely appalling.

The reason these lovely creatures are up for culling is because of the presence of "MAN"!......Man is and always has been the problem. And it would be a grand idea to cull more than a few of the six billion humans now on this earth!!!!!!! How man kangaroo's are there in comparision to SIX BILLION HUMANS?????

Bette I was thinking of exactly the same thing. With 6 billion people on this planet its not hard to see where the problem lies.BTW, we are rapidly approacing 7 billion (6 Billion, 673 million!)And then we wonder why the animals on this planet are in such a crisis!

when we've sorted out the human population crisis the we have a right to decide how to deal with tht epopulation of other species... The only way to 'cull' any wild species is to stop culling it's predators.. or maybe reintroduce any predator species that we have have hunted to extinction... mostly out of misinformation usually and fear.. I'm thinking of wolves here.. but not sure about Austalia...

p.s. jocelyn perhaps you could explain in more detail you're ideas about a 'humane' way to kill something... kill it nicely with soft music maybe... or perhaps only kill it a little bit...?

We need another and a wiser and
perhaps a more mystical concept of animals...
In a world older and more complete than ours
they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions
of the senses we have lost or never attained,
living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren,
they are not underlings; they are other nations,
caught with ourselves in the net of life and time,
fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.

Henry Beston

I never did find the poll althought I looked and looked. I hate the idea of culling of any animal although they say sometimes it must be done to control inbreeding, disease amongst the deer, kangeroos, etc. Whatever is in the best interest of the animals I say they should do, but if culling is the answer then it must be done humanely. I cannot believe I am saying it, but I would hate to see great numbers of animals killed by a disease that could have been prevented by culling a few. (I am sooo sorry little Roos and little Bambi's). I REALLY LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

Gee, I feel so bad even saying a cull MIGHT be okay in certain instances that I want to reiterate and say that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES if a roo is killed for leather, sport or anything of this nature do I condone it. I would be DEAD SET AGAINST IT! I love animals so much and only want what is the best for them. If a cull of a few would save the whole bunch from getting disease then I would reluctantly (and sadly) have to agree. But I would do it with a broken heart.

Hmmm... did I miss anything? Why should kangaroos, or any living creatures, for that matter, be culled. It doesn't even sound human...

Hi paul.

Please do not introduce wolves into Australia! We have so many problems with our native flora and fauna from introduced plant and animal species especially foxes/rabbits etc!

My anger over this cull is that it has been allowed - as before- to get to this stage without other intervention -ditto with any cull - I n Australia ther is massive culling of wild camels, donkeys,
