Major telecommunications companies are spending millions lobbying the U.S. congress to make the Internet into a private network.

Seeing how taxpayer money was used to subsidize the Internet's development, companies shouldn't be trying to steal from American taxpayers. If they want to increase profits, they can either provide services worth paying for like VoIP or greatly reduce executives' pay and benefits.

It appears to me that this is just another way for the media to control our thoughts and feelings. If this happens, I'm definitely leaving this country. The only value Americans have anymore is the value of their possessions. I can't believe people don't take the time stop and look at this dangerous chain of events that are taking place. Here we are on the brink of a conscious revolution, and this is what continues to boil in congress. Perhaps this will be the straw that breaks the camels back. Big business owns everything, from the seeds we grow in our yards to the thoughts we manifest. I'm appalled.

We the people, the tax payers, pay for our United States Government. All government officials and employees are public servents. When, we the people, want something we should get it. If we want the internet to be free, it should be. We need to stop all the rich people from taking control of everthing. All they want is to make more money off of the working man. We need to stop voting for rich politicians that listen more to what large corporations, and what the rich people want, then to what the working people want and who actually pays their salary. We need to get the rich people out of our government. All their decisions always help out the rich, and only add more burden to the working class people, the tax payers. We the people, need to stop big business, the rich people, from controlling everything and making money off of us, the tax payers. We all need to stop voting for rich politicians. We need to get more working class people into our government. Our government is supposed to work for us, the United States tax payers who pay for it.

You know what i think, we've waited to long to see these things happening and now its goin to be hard to turn them all around.Theirs a few rich people in every state that run things and make all these foolish laws and we just sit around watching and complaining but doing nothing.this country is turning into what our fore fathers escaped from long ago, what a shame for us to be so blind, but the good thing is that God is still in control of everything and its just a matter of time before were living in his Kingdom under his rule, something to look forward to.

All of you should move to Canada, become voting citizens, and help us get rid of the Conservative elements in our Parliament. If we had Pierre Trudeau he would nationalize the internet, thereby making it available to all Canadians! More and more I am seeing the wisdom and foresight of a woman writer that wrote about the internet back in the early 90's in a fictional novel. How the world became divided into "camps" of internet based zones, had golems and all sorts of what seemed like far fetched ideas. Wish I could remember her name! Anyhow, you dissatisfied Americans are welcome to come North, vote anything but Conservative, please! Our Mini-Bush is freaking us all out....well, those of that are conscious.

IT'S JUST ANOTHER STEP TOWARDS CONTROL AND SUPPRESSION. THEY ALREADY LOOK AT WHAT WE GOOGLE AND SPEND OUR MONEY ON. I WOULD THINK THEY WOULD WANT THE INTERNET TO SPY MORE FREELY ON ALL OF US.

How can they do that?
They don't even own the Internet, and neither does the governement. It belongs to the entire world.
