But the flaw in this theory fails to take into account that they lived in highly controlled environments. As a matter of fact, when exposed to disease, calorie restricted animals have a higher rate of illness.

And of course, calorie deprivation makes people irritable and high strung. That is why dieters are so unpleasant to be around.

But what really interests me is why are the same people who go around calling for population reduction and advocating limiting the number of children complaining about our obsession with longevity? Overpopulation is more of a problem when there is too many old people, not too many young people?

Furthermore, why aren't the animal rights folks going ballistic at the site of these emaciated monkeys? They are being forced to endure discomfort, and eat below what is natural for them just because humans are afraid of a natural process called death.
