Very unstable time, businesses are legitimately concerned about additional costs and the economy so they are not hiring. In my local area, a paper mill closed last week and laid off 1,100 workers. Small town, Franklin, VA, and now 1,100 people will need to sell their homes and move to find work or drive a minimum of an hour to jobs in other areas. Real estate already hammered, the plant closing will cause numerous bankruptcies. Not that i'm a big paper plant guy, but it is an indication of major employment issues that are not being addressed by congress. I'm writing a series on the issues that caused the real estate collapse on examiner dot com that talks about Wall Street greed as a contributor but also about the role of income tax incentives and other factors that caused so much cash to build up in real estate. Fourth article was yesterday and the last two will be tomorrow and Monday. Still working on figuring out links :-)
