I have to admit, my rescue Lab Nyla LOVED going to fireworks in Houston. I know dogs are suppose to be color-blind, but she was fixated on the fireworks, not scared at all. 1 yr we even brought her Boxer friend & her family. I DO know that every Collie or other herding breed we've ever had totally freaks out, at home, & hides until the drama is over. No idea what the major difference is there, but I've witnessed it many times.
Anyway, take care of your pets!
Love & God bless~

Poor little ones, it would be scarey for them. Our cat sits upstairs staring out the window watching the fireworks far off and pawing at the glass until the neighbors close by start their revelry. Then Mr. Cici runs for the darkest corner and hides until it's all over. I'm sure Miss L will be baying and carrying on this year. She was too small last year to know what was happening and fell asleep in my daughter's lap. Keep your pets inside and safe. Thank you, Andrea, for this very important reminder!

When living in Oregon on thr Willamette River there were many geese who were abandoned as pets. On the 4th--fireworks--snd we would have a party with cracked corn on county land next door. Much better than having them being scared.
