Uhoud, In any war the first casualty is truth. We will never know the true extent of the losses either on the part of the invading forces nor among the Iraqi people themselves. What we do know is that each of these deaths produces the pain of bereavement to another family...something I am only too aware of. To lose a member of your family to violence is so hard to understand or to take in...as all such deaths are avoidable.

The invasion of Iraq has been a totally illegal operation from the start. It was undertaken on the words of lies spoken by our leaders and pursued ruthlessly regardless of the loss of life and waste of human resources. It has achieved precisely nothing apart from removing the former leader and his henchmen...there were easier ways to achieve that and the prolonging of it has been wrong and wrong and wrong.

America needs to take a long hard look at its role within the world and stop interfering in other peoples business...being a super-power brings responsibility to take a lead on the world stage...instead of which the USA has dragged itself as marauding pirates round the globe murdering wherever it goes...it has not produced resolution to any situation since Vietnam...which it lost as well.
