For the first time, scientists have discovered an Earth-sized alien planet in the habitable zone of its host star, an "Earth cousin" that just might have liquid water and the right conditions for life.

I sure hope we can never reach it or more enlightened beings stop us... Here Comes the Humans, and There Goes the Neighborhood. Based on our current F grade in planet management, we do not deserve another planet. Better that we just die out with the planet we've killed. The human experiment just didn't work.

Wow, now people can leave this planet and go mess up another one. Why not just clean this one up intend of leaving it this way? Well, call left behind will be better off but I feel sorry for anyone living on the next one.

Lucky for that plant we can't get there.

Planet not plant. I have a stiff finger and sometimes I make a mistake and don't catch it until I hit submit.

hmmm a new place to leave our garbage. Just put a homing device on a bagfull and send it there. I'm sure any life on that planet will appreciate the greeting from earth!

Just because it's in the habitable zone doesn't mean there's advanced life there. There may not be any life at all. Or there could be in a few billion years. If it's that long, all the anti-space exploration types here can quit complaining, since humans won't be around then. We'll either have evolved into something else, or we'll be extinct.

We can't even get off our own rock, yet. This planet is 590 light YEARS from here. Worry not for this planet. We humans will not destroy it.

Interesting, 490 light-years from Earth. I guess if I leave tonight, I will have time to get back before the July first weekend. My starship is rather quick.

Space is always fascinating and intriguing.

The most interesting thought about other planets that could possibly support life is, what the inhabitants must look like, due to their evolutionary process.
