There exist no shortage of angles one could use to look at the gender wage gap, an issue that deservedly holds the attention of most people pushing for equality.

The maximum minimums is more representative than the rosy NPR version for sure.

It is probably relatively intentional to steer women to the military after which they get credit as veterans for jobs if not pay equity. We are trying to go back to the post WWII veteran style of social rewards.

There are so many women who are the chief household breadwinners nowadays that there's just no excuse for this to continue. The situation keeps many children in poverty in this country, too.

Is one of the reason most wealthy or a least well paid men don't seem to have a problem keeping it this way. Majority of head of Corporations are men and in the leadership positions are men those lobbyist are men. Do you see a pattern here?

This also affects their retirement as well because most women are trying to survive on less in at the end of their lives and as women live longer than men on average it leaves a lot of women in poverty or extremely low income at the end of their lives.

If the "shoe was on the other foot" men would complain and get something done about it, pronto.

Go figure--yet women make up a much bigger% of the educated as more women are enrolled in colleges/universities across both Canada+the US. One day this has gotta change.

Noted. Thanks, Freya.
Yes, let all the CEO's and banksters take their huge salaries and pocket them, without ever worrying about how much they're spending. But, those making these low wages, and not even able to be hired as "full time" can wait until hell freezes over to get a raise.
We need an enormous push for the E.R.A. in the coming months. Passing that would be the best thing for women.
