Not one step back! Not ONE step back!

Exceedingly depressing.

Raleigh - not only businessmen but exceedingly wealthy ones with "supremacist" mindsets ...

And this gang appears also to be fixated on 200 year old laws being set in stone -

Even if you're right Darren, & this Administration DOESN'T last a full first term, undoing the damage is not going to be easy.

The way judges are elected and nominated to courts in America never convinced me of an independent, unbiased and objective justice system, but Drumpf's new appointments, and those in the making make it very clear that the far right is taking over.

That was to be expected of course, Drumpf, both lazy and ignorant, has just ticked candidates from lists compiled by the Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation, both far-right institutions. With these judges, and Goresuch, in place he can be sure that he, his big business buddies, and the religious fundamentalists can get all their draconian and even unconstitutional bans and laws passed the courts.

Say goodbye to the separation of church and state, or corporation and state if you will, for the next decade or so, America. Because that is how long it's going to take to repair the damage Drumpf and his acolytes have done, even when he's indicted for treason right now.

But I also think we're getting a strong insight into how DT runs/ ran his businesses - figurehead, all "image", but for the details behind the scenes - depending on others to study, analyse & "advise" ... leaving him to play his direct audiences, use their interests to manipulate them into what he wants of them
And in the relatively focussed areas of his businesses, this could work.

But - for governing a country, one needs much broader know-how filling the (invisible) support roles. And he hasn't a clue how to select such people, he falls back on those who boost his ego & are "known" to him. And where more people have to be nominated, he leans on the advice of those he agrees with (for which, read "massage his ego" - who happen to be part of his millionaire + club & many pro-gun, anti-difference, with the mindset 'keep things that allow making MORE millions' in which "ordinary" citizens are only there to clap & serve). The result - what we are seeing.

However - to be fair ... this mess in the prison system goes back a number of years; it's just being given more liberty to abuse under this administration.

Looks suspiciously like another 'profit-making scam' for the unconscionable bottom liners. Our liberties and rights as free citizens {and especially those who have come to the US for a better life*} appears to be seriously challenged by the absolute corrupt, and greedy sociopaths who've been enhanced by decades of immoral behavior tolerated by the entitled elite, who buy their way through the court system and subjugate the disenfranchised who are essentially helpless to protect, defend, and enhance themselves in this ever growing culture of harmful policies, unethical business practices, and hateful social attitudes! It is now reaching epidemic proportions and more dangerous than this country has ever known!!!

I never expected anything else from Trump. Anyone who didn't vote for Clinton is responsible for the way things are.

I think we all have at least one of those in our family Mitchell - my Aunt is saying the same thing even though I tell her what is going on, she still refuses to believe it; because he wouldn't do that, just give him time she says.

No, anyone who voted for Trump or Clinton is responsible for the way things are. The Dem's because they put up a Candidate that was still working for the 1% was mildly better and eventually would of pushed us right and right some more, as has been happening. It just shows how flawed a Candidate she was that a lot of people stayed home or voted for a 3rd Party.

You can stick with that until the cows come home Jeff, but until the Democrats see how flawed their Party is that Trump seemed a better pick - you must lay the blame where it belongs. Now if the Dem's would have put Bernie out there, and if they got a backbone and stopped working for the 1% we'd of had a whole other situation going on today.

If anything, more people stayed home and/or voted 3rd Party than voted for the GOP or the Dem's. If they had combined their strength together we'd have at least taken the White House. That would have been a way to grab the microphone and start pushing a message so that we could take back the lower tickets. If the Dem's do get it together, and getting it together isn't throwing a guilt trip at people on the left that are tied of the BS, then we can take back the one thousand seats that the Dem's have lost the last 8 years. We can't blame it all on the GOP, the left hasn't been there for the working folk, the poor, and they know it, so why go vote for that lesser of two evils; it never improves their life.

Why couldn't Obama pushed to have his Supreme Court pick? He even picked a conservative Candidate in hopes the GOP would like him. That didn't happen but Trump got his so we now have a young member in the Supreme Court that will be able to do damage for another 40+ years if he lives.

I meant to also add to this " It just shows how flawed a Candidate she was that a lot of people stayed home or voted for a 3rd Party. (she was so flawed some even voted for Trump)

If a 3rd possibility had a ghost of a chance of actually 'getting in there to change the course of our government' - it was not organized enough, not strong enough with our culture and how it communicates, not experienced enough to navigate the territory, not savvy enough to whittle out their own edge, and not convincing enough for the country to ignore the others to get 'them' in. While talk is cheap, the words don't do the walking, and anybody can say anything, but that doesn't mean a bucket of beans if they don't have real leverage, foundation, and over 50% of the votes. I still think voting for Trump shows the world how gullible this country was, (with many still 'believing' in Trump's bag of bull) - and watching the French election, gave the globe a sense of hope again.

We'll probably never know....BUT.....many of his early supporters MUST be realizing their error, whether or not they'll admit it publicly. Let's hope Mitchell's cousin and Dandy's aunt are among those.
