Many homeless advocates advise that if you want to help those in need, you should give them food - not cash. But sadly, it's becoming increasingly common for U.S. cities to punish the charitable people who put their time and money into this effort.

What a ridiculous law.
What a wonderful, caring, statement about the community that enacted it.

These communities need to put their efforts into helping the homeless with shelter and jobs; Not shaming them and essentially tearing down what little support base they have.

thank you for this news. I see no reason not to feed the homeless. I'd feed them if I had any in my area. these authorities need to think how they'd feel if they were homeless. it's so easy for these authorities to say no - because they have everything they need to survive. where are these authorities hearts, and souls?! they say let churches, and kitchens help the homeless - but even authorities are saying no to those kind of help. so - what are the homeless suppose to do?! how can they get help?!
