Bottled water is a drain on the environment: The U.S. public goes through about 50 billion water bottles a year, and most of those plastic containers are not recycled, according to Elizabeth Royte's 2008 book Bottlemania: How Water Went on Sale and Why

I agree wholeheartedly we shouldn't use plastic bottles, but on the other hand what can we use? Is there a safer and recyclable material?

I use a glass water bottle. Many brands of bottled water also contain fluoride.

Neat article, I agree you need to have a filter if you are drinking from the tap and I think as an alternative to plastic glass truly is best. A lot of places in Europe sell water in a glass bottle not in a plastic bottle, so not sure why we do the opposite here.
