Grandma taught us most of these, including grinding up the shells for pet and wild birds. It's the best calcium supplement for birds ~ and you don't have to buy it!

People who keep their own hens know they can feed the egg shells back to the hens.

Please remember when buying eggs to select real free range eggs, do not support the cruel battery hen industry. It's bad enough to think of all the male chicks being fed into the grinders, but to think of the hens being kept in horrid cages while pumping out eggs is just too sad.
