Interesting, but sad. Reminds me of Shelley's poem about Ozymandias: And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

Fascinating. i find some places absolutely beautiful! But one is very heartbreaking : it's Oradour sur Glane..

Extremely haunting. All those people, lost in time.

I can't believe no one has salvaged the metal from these sites yet. Those chains on on that Island 1000 miles East of South America are close to their weight in gold these days.
