As the anticipated July release date for Baxter's A/H1N1 (Swine flu) pandemic vaccine approaches, an Austrian investigative journalist is warning the world that the greatest crime in the history of humanity is underway. Jane Burgermeister has recently filed criminal charges with the FBI against the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and several of the highest ranking government and corporate officials concerning bioterrorism and attempts to commit mass murder. She has also prepared an injunction against forced vaccination which is being filed in America. These actions follow her charges filed in April against Baxter AG and Avir Green Hills Biotechnology of Austria for producing contaminated bird flu vaccine, alleging this was a deliberate act to cause and profit from a pandemic.

Summary of claims and allegations filed with FBI in Austria on June 10, 2009

In her charges, Burgermeister presents evidence of acts of bioterrorism that is in violation of U.S. law by a group operating within the U.S. under the direction of international bankers who control the Federal Reserve, as well as WHO, UN and NATO. This bioterrorism is for the purpose of carrying out a mass genocide against the U.S. population by use of a genetically engineered flu pandemic virus with the intent of causing death. This group has annexed high government offices in the U.S.

Specifically, evidence is presented that the defendants, Barack Obama, President of the U.S, David Nabarro, UN System Coordinator for Influenza, Margaret Chan, Director-General of WHO, Kathleen Sibelius, Secretary of Department of Health and Human Services, Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Department of Homeland Security, David de Rotschild, banker, David Rockefeller, banker, George Soros, banker, Werner Faymann, Chancellor of Austria, and Alois Stoger, Austrian Health Minister, among others, are part of this international corporate criminal syndicate which has developed, produced, stockpiled and employed biological weapons to eliminate the population of the U.S. and other countries for financial and political gain.

The charges contend that these defendants conspired with each other and others to devise, fund and participate in the final phase of the implementation of a covert international bioweapons program involving the pharmaceutical companies Baxter and Novartis. They did this by bioengineering and then releasing lethal biological agents, specifically the "bird flu" virus and the "swine flu virus" in order to have a pretext to implement a forced mass vaccination program which would be the means of administering a toxic biological agent to cause death and injury to the people of the U.S. This action is in direct violation of the Biological Weapons Anti-terrorism Act.

Burgermeister's charges include evidence that Baxter AG, Austrian subsidiary of Baxter International, deliberately sent out 72 kilos of live bird flu virus, supplied by the WHO in the winter of 2009 to 16 laboratories in four counties. She claims this evidence offers clear proof that the pharmaceutical companies and international government agencies themselves are actively engaged in producing, developing, manufacturing and distributing biological agents classified as the most deadly bioweapons on earth in order to trigger a pandemic and cause mass death.

In her April charges, she noted that Baxter's lab in Austria, one of the supposedly most secure biosecurity labs in the world, did not adhere to the most basic and essential steps to keep 72 kilos of a pathogen classified as a bioweapon secure and separate from all other substances under stringent biosecurity level regulations, but it allowed it to be mixed with the ordinary human flu virus and sent from its facilities in Orth in the Donau.

In February, when a staff member at BioTest in the Czech Republic tested the material meant for candidate vaccines on ferrets, the ferrets died. This incident was not followed up by any investigation from the WHO, EU, or Austrian health authorities. There was no investigation of the content of the virus material, and there is no data on the genetic sequence of the virus released.

In answer to parliamentary questions on May 20th, the Austrian Health Minister, Alois Stoger, revealed that the incident had been handled not as a biosecurity lapse, as it should have been, but as an offence against the veterinary code. A veterinary doctor was sent to the lab for a brief inspection.

Burgermeister's dossier reveals that the release of the virus was to be an essential step for triggering a pandemic that would allow the WHO to declare a Level 6 Pandemic. She lists the laws and decrees that would allow the UN and WHO to take over the United States in the event of pandemic. In addition, legislation requiring compliance with mandatory vaccinations would be put into force in the U.S. under conditions of pandemic declaration.

She charges that the entire "swine flu" pandemic business is premised on a massive lie that there is no natural virus out there that poses a threat to the population. She presents evidence leading to the belief that the bird flu and swine flu viruses have, in fact, been bioengineered in laboratories using funding supplied by the WHO and other government agencies, among others. This "swine flu" is a hybrid of part swine flu, part human flu and part bird flu, something that can only come from laboratories according to many experts.

WHO's claim that this "swine flu" is spreading and a pandemic must be declared ignores the fundamental causes. The viruses that were released were created and released with the help of WHO, and WHO is overwhelmingly responsible for the pandemic in the first place. In addition, the symptoms of the supposed "swine flu" are indistinguishable from regular flu or from the common cold. The "swine flu" does not cause death anymore often than the regular flu causes death.

Burgermeister notes that the figures for deaths reported for the "swine flu" are inconsistent and there is no clarity as to how the number of "deaths" has been documented.

There is no pandemic potential unless mass vaccinations are carried out to weaponize the flu under the guise of protecting the population. There are reasonable grounds for believing that the mandatory vaccines will be purposely contaminated with diseases that are specifically designed to cause death.

Reference is made to a licensed Novartis bird flu vaccine that killed 21 homeless people in Poland in the summer of 2008 and had as its "primary outcome measure" an "adverse events rate", thereby meeting the U.S. government's own definition of a bioweapon (a biological agent designed to cause an adverse events rate, i.e death or injury) with a delivery system (injection).

She alleges that the same complex of international pharmaceutical companies and international government agencies that have developed and released pandemic material have positioned themselves to profit from triggering the pandemic with contracts to supply vaccines. Media controlled by the group that is engineering the "swine flu" agenda is spreading misinformation to lull the people of the U.S. into taking the dangerous vaccine.

The people of the U.S. will suffer substantial and irreparable harm and injury if they are forced to take this unproven vaccine without their consent in accordance with the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act, National Emergency Act, National Security Presidential Directive/NSPD 51, Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-20, and the International Partnership on Avian and Pandemic Influenza.

In the U.S. since 2008, Burgermeister charges that those named in her allegations have implemented new and/or accelerated the implementation of laws and regulations designed to strip the citizens of the U.S. of their lawful constitutional rights to refuse an injection. These people have created or allowed provisions to remain in place that make it a criminal act to refuse to take an injection against pandemic viruses. They have imposed other excessive and cruel penalties such as imprisonment and/or quarantine in FEMA camps while barring the citizens of the U.S. from claiming compensation from injury or death from the forced injections. This is in violation of the laws governing federal corruption and the abuse of office as well as of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Through these actions, the named defendants have laid the groundwork for mass genocide.

Using the "swine flu" as a pretext, the defendants have preplanned the mass murder of the U.S. population by means of forced vaccination. They have installed an extensive network of FEMA concentration camps and identified mass grave sites, and they have been involved in devising and implementing a scheme to hand power over the U.S. to an international crime syndicate that uses the UN and WHO as a front for illegal racketeering influenced organized crime activities, in violation of the laws that govern treason.

She further charges that the complex of pharmaceutical companies consisting of Baxter, Novartis and Sanofi Aventis are part of a foreign-based dual purpose bioweapons program, financed by this international criminal syndicate and designed to implement mass murder to reduce the world's population by more than 5 billion people in the next ten years. Their plan is to spread terror to justify forcing people to give up their rights, and to force mass quarantine in FEMA camps. The houses, companies and farms and lands of those who are killed will be up for grabs by this syndicate.

By eliminating the population of North America, the international elite gain access to the region's natural resources such as water and undeveloped oil lands. And by eliminating the U.S. and its democratic constitution by subsuming it under a North American Union, the international crime group will have total control over North America.

Burgermeister has a snowball's chance in hell forwarding this theory, for no one wants to believe the same people who run the governments would do such a thing. But it's entirely plausible from my point of view. It's not a big stretch for me that the same leaders who sent soldiers to their deaths on false premises in order to gain control and profit would purposely manufacture another catastrophe to also induce fear and increase control and profit.....

Viral Pandemic H5N1 flu threat: Baxter contaminates European labs by "error"

It could be a Hollywood Worst Case Thriller, but it is real: According to the scientific network PROMED, Baxter International Inc. in Austria "unintentionally contaminated samples with the bird flu virus that were used in laboratories in 3 neighboring countries, raising concern about the potential spread of the deadly disease". As PROMED reports, the contamination has been discovered when ferrets at a laboratory in the Czech Republic died after being inoculated with vaccine made from the samples early this month. "The material came from Deerfield, Illinois-based Baxter, which reported the incident to the Austrian Ministry of Health, Sigrid Rosenberger, a ministry spokeswoman, said today in a telephone interview", the network-alert-system is quoting. "This was infected with a bird flu virus," Rosenberger said. "There were some people from the company who handled it." Evidence for the global threat comes from China, where a 2 year old girl has been confirmed to be infected with bird flu in the northern Shanxi Province, as government officials said last Saturday. The child was found ill on 7th of January in the central Hunan province - the little patient still is in critical condition. According to the test result of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the girl had been tested positive for the H5N1 strain of avian influenza.

On the other site of the globe, the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt announced a new human case of avian influenza A(H5N1) virus infection last week, the case being a 21 month old girl Kerdasa District.

“Infection with the H5N1 avian influenza virus was diagnosed by PCR at the Egyptian Central Public Health Laboratory and subsequently confirmed by the U. S. Naval Medical Research Unit No. 3 (NAMRU-3) laboratories”, reports the special wire PROMED. According to PROMED, investigations into the source of her infection indicate a recent history of contact with sick and dead poultry - 23 similar cases in Egypt have been fatal up to date.

Old Europe as leading research power?

Given such facts, Mr. Obama should follow European research policy: European research on vaccine development for pandemic influenza has been financed since 2001 by the European Union. Early projects worked to develop an egg-free vaccine, which is faster and safer to produce, along with innovative application techniques. Research is now underway with the objectives of fighting the disease at the source (infected birds) and protecting human populations through pandemic influenza vaccines. Future EU research will improve vaccine efficiency by adding adjuvants, substances that boost the body’s immune response to vaccine antigen. Additionally, research teams are currently focused on developing a universal flu vaccine that could provide a lifetime of protection from influenza.

Latest surveillance data coming through the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) from virologists and clinicians indicates that the influenza A(H3N2) virus is the predominant strain in Europe so far this season (2008/2009). Based on the data published by ECDC the pharmaceutical company Roche confirms that the oral antiviral Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is fully active against influenza A(H3N2) and influenza B, which currently comprise 94 percent of circulating viruses in Europe this year. Tamiflu resistance reported in the 2008-2009 influenza seasons is confined to H1N1. No resistance has been seen with other circulating seasonal viruses - H3N2 and influenza B.

"Recent media reporting has elevated awareness of the H1N1 seasonal resistance seen this year in the United States and the Far East. However, in Europe the picture is different with H3N2 being the dominant strain so far. The circulating H3N2 viruses, which often cause a more severe illness than H1N1, are sensitive to oseltamivir, which means that oseltamivir will be active against the vast majority of influenza infections in Europe this season, if current trends continue," comments Prof Albert Osterhaus, Head of Virology, Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam. "It is important that doctors understand that oseltamivir remains an effective treatment for patients across Europe."

Flu alert for the new President

However, the situation in the United States is more alerting, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A new University of Colorado at Boulder study showed the resistance of the avian flu virus to a major class of antiviral drugs "is increasing through positive evolutionary selection, with researchers documenting the trend in more than 30 percent of the samples tested", as the scientists report. Even if the expected influenza pandemic did not start yet, there is no doubt about the comeback of the lethal virus: The first Pandemic Influenza occurred in three waves in the United States - exactly 90 years ago, between 1918 and 1919.

Baxter: Product contained live bird flu virus

The company that released contaminated flu virus material from a plant in Austria confirmed Friday that the experimental product contained live H5N1 avian flu viruses.

And an official of the World Health Organization’s European operation said the body is closely monitoring the investigation into the events that took place at Baxter International’s research facility in Orth-Donau, Austria.

“At this juncture we are confident in saying that public health and occupational risk is minimal at present,” medical officer Roberta Andraghetti said from Copenhagen, Denmark.

“But what remains unanswered are the circumstances surrounding the incident in the Baxter facility in Orth-Donau.”

The contaminated product, a mix of H3N2 seasonal flu viruses and unlabelled H5N1 viruses, was supplied to an Austrian research company. The Austrian firm, Avir Green Hills Biotechnology, then sent portions of it to sub-contractors in the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany.

The contamination incident, which is being investigated by the four European countries, came to light when the subcontractor in the Czech Republic inoculated ferrets with the product and they died. Ferrets shouldn’t die from exposure to human H3N2 flu viruses.

Public health authorities concerned about what has been described as a “serious error” on Baxter’s part have assumed the death of the ferrets meant the H5N1 virus in the product was live. But the company, Baxter International Inc., has been parsimonious about the amount of information it has released about the event.

On Friday, the company’s director of global bioscience communications confirmed what scientists have suspected.

“It was live,” Christopher Bona said in an email.

The contaminated product, which Baxter calls “experimental virus material,” was made at the Orth-Donau research facility. Baxter makes its flu vaccine — including a human H5N1 vaccine for which a licence is expected shortly — at a facility in the Czech Republic.

People familiar with biosecurity rules are dismayed by evidence that human H3N2 and avian H5N1 viruses somehow co-mingled in the Orth-Donau facility. That is a dangerous practice that should not be allowed to happen, a number of experts insisted.

Accidental release of a mixture of live H5N1 and H3N2 viruses could have resulted in dire consequences.

While H5N1 doesn’t easily infect people, H3N2 viruses do. If someone exposed to a mixture of the two had been simultaneously infected with both strains, he or she could have served as an incubator for a hybrid virus able to transmit easily to and among people.

That mixing process, called reassortment, is one of two ways pandemic viruses are created.

There is no suggestion that happened because of this accident, however.

“We have no evidence of any reassortment, that any reassortment may have occurred,” said Andraghetti.

“And we have no evidence of any increased transmissibility of the viruses that were involved in the experiment with the ferrets in the Czech Republic.”

Baxter hasn’t shed much light — at least not publicly — on how the accident happened. Earlier this week Bona called the mistake the result of a combination of “just the process itself, (and) technical and human error in this procedure.”

He said he couldn’t reveal more information because it would give away proprietary information about Baxter’s production process.

Andraghetti said Friday the four investigating governments are co-operating closely with the WHO and the European Centre for Disease Control in Stockholm, Sweden.

“We are in very close contact with Austrian authorities to understand what the circumstances of the incident in their laboratory were,” she said.

“And the reason for us wishing to know what has happened is to prevent similar events in the future and to share lessons that can be learned from this event with others to prevent similar events. ... This is very important.”

[-] Text [+] NEW YORK (Reuters) - Baxter International Inc said on Friday that it is in full-scale production of an A/H1N1 flu pandemic vaccine that could be ready for commercial use next month.

The news comes a day after the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared a pandemic and cautioned governments to prepare for a long-term battle against the new virus.

Baxter said it received an A/H1N1 strain from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in May and has been working to develop a pandemic vaccine for use as early as July.

A number of national public health authorities have agreements with Baxter that allow them to place orders for a vaccine now that a pandemic has been declared by WHO, Baxter said.

Baxter said it would also work with WHO to allocate a portion of the company's commercial vaccine production to address global public health issues deemed most urgent.

The company, which said it has completed testing and evaluation of the virus, is developing the vaccine using cell technology. Traditional flu vaccines are made using chicken eggs and typically take some six months to produce.

Baxter said it believes its Vero cell technology will allow for much more rapid production and delivery of pandemic flu vaccine.

The company plans to submit the A/H1N1 vaccine for approval upon completion of initial manufacturing runs.

A/H1N1 flu strain was first discovered in Mexico and has rapidly spread. There have been 28,774 confirmed cases of the virus in 74 countries with 144 deaths, according to WHO's latest tally of laboratory-confirmed cases. It is believed that tests have turned up only a fraction of the true number of cases of the virus.

Baxter and Glaxo to supply European nations with swine flu vaccine

British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline has received interest from several governments, including Britain, France, Belgium and Finland, looking to stockpile a pandemic vaccine against the new H1N1 virus.
Britain said in a separate statement that it had signed an agreement with Baxter International and Glaxo to secure supplies of up to 90 million doses. The company said it expects to begin production once it receives the seed virus, or starting material, needed to produce a pandemic vaccine. The first doses would then be available four to six months later, pending regulatory approval, Glaxo said.

The drugmaker also confirmed that it will continue its development of seasonal vaccine alongside the pandemic vaccine. It said it expects to complete production of the Northern Hemisphere seasonal flu vaccine by the end of July.

"To date, Glaxo has received interest from several governments aiming to stockpile the new candidate adjuvanted vaccine as a precautionary measure," the company said in a statement.

WHO Director-General Margaret Chan said in Geneva on Friday it was important for pharmaceutical companies to keep making seasonal flu jabs because seasonal flu kills up to 500,000.

Yes, we do need to wake up and smell the coffee and deal with what really caused the swine flu pandemic. And that is the awful practice of factory farming. These kind of factory farming conditions allow human and animal viruses to free intermingle, share genes, and make jumps from one species to another.

If it were not for factory farming, we would not have swine flu or bird flu as something to worry about. Neither of these viruses would ever have jumped to humans.

It's my own hypothesis based on my the fact that my academic background is in ecology and biology. But it makes far more scientific sense then these kind of conspiracy theories that have no real supporting evidence.

We know for sure that viruses can jump between species in nature. This happens all the time. Viruses are very adept at being able to pick up new DNA and graft it into themselves. This is one way they can jump between species.

The scenario goes something like this: Human has a human strain of the flu virus, pig has a pig strain of the flu virus. The two viruses are airborn and come in contact with each other in a factory farm or a slaughterhouse. One picks up DNA from the other, and bingo: You have a new strain that can infect both species.

This is one reason factory farming is so dangerous. It exposes us to pathogens we would never otherwise be exposed to, and it allows them to graft human DNA into their genes. (Viruses are interesting things from a genetic perspective, because unlike bacteria, viral DNA is more closely related to the host species than to other viruses.)

I actually have been thinking about ways to prove this hypothesis. But statistical studies are hard to do because the historical data is of somewhat low quality, and it would be hard to control for all confounding variables. But I'm still looking into actually trying to conduct a study on this.

The fact that viruses are more related to their host species than they are to other viruses brings up the question of origins as well. Where did viruses come come? The most likely answer is they initially arise from rogue DNA in various species. Unlike bacteria, viruses have no capability to reproduce themselves. They rely entirely on being able to take over the reproductive machinery of a host cell and "trick" it into making copies of the virus instead of copies of itself (either by altering the DNA or RNA of the virus).

However, because viruses likely arise from rogue DNA and are closely related to the host species, viruses often are fairly species specific. But through years of mass close contact (like you get in slaughterhouses or factory farms) they eventually they can evolve by grafting genes from another virus into their own host DNA. This allows them to infect multiple species.

Zoonosis is well known and happens all the time; there is no conspiricy it's called antigenic shift and drift of a virus.

I'm not rewriting the building blocks of the world. I am using everything I know about biology and ecology to formulate a scientifically supported hypothesis for why viruses like avian flu and swine flu jump to humans. Everything I have based this hypothesis on is already known to occur.

Think of cruise ship viruses for example. You pack a lot of people into cramped quarters, you greatly increase the odds that viruses will transmit. Same thing happens in factory farming. Contact occurs more often than it would in the natural environment. And so the odds of two viruses combining to form a new strain increases greatly.

Could you genetically engineer it? Sure. We've done it in the past. Many vaccines are recombinant vaccines that combine very dangerous viral DNA with DNA from another virus that is harmless to humans. For example, Canine distemper vaccines for dogs are live viral DNA that is recombined with the Canary pox virus. The Canary pox virus cannot deliver the viral DNA inside of a mammalian cell, but once it has been delivered, it cannot replicate, because the canary pox virus cannot replicate inside mammalian cells. Thus, the canine distemper virus vaccine cannot actually give your dog canine distemper. Only protect them from it.

So yes, we are fully capable of genetically engineering "new viruses" through recombinant DNA technology. This is no secret .

I did look at the site, yes. And I don't see anything convincing. Just typical "The drug companies are intentionally making us sick so they can sell more drugs to cure us" conspiracy type rhetoric. Look, I believe drug companies are evil because of their use of drug patents and such, and for charging people insane amounts of money for lfe saving cures. But I do not believe they are intentionally making us sick. If they were, we would have overwhelming evidence by now. While I respect your right to paranoia or angry suspicious thought, I respect your right to your belief and I agree parts of your belief have some merit, that said much of the flavor of your verbiage is inflamed and either personal or literally factually wrong.

I am educated in human medicine; no big deal as far as I am concerned just to say my degrees are not in mathematics. I also have experience in a primate lab, Duke University Lemur Center http://lemur.duke.edu/ please adopt a lemur and do something to save the species.

I say this because it does give credibility to my knowledge of Zoonosis and the type of work I did was species ID using DNA and behavioral observation of groups. The reason for this is to save the Lemur; endangered species money is regulated bye species, so if you find proof that yea their all lemurs but there are unique groups that are potentially new species like the tortoise on the Galapagos the law requires that new unique species get the same money as other lemur species. Finding the proof disproves the claims that the lemur population is stable and all you see are variants. Duke has proven that untrue and discovered the variants tested are unique species. This can be a catch-22 as if there are large numbers of different species you get no money as it would be an anomaly to the Madagascar lemur. Research is critical to save the Lemur.

I respect your right to civilly use any format to express distain there are a few things your sorely misinformed.

The word pandemic evokes "Black Plague" vision, likely a poor choice of words. The alert levels are not for what you seem to think they are, decisions regarding who goes to school are local have nothing to do with WHO or the UN.

The levels are regional tools and numbers rise thru areas of the world found to have a pathogen, when the numbers rise a shift of need is placed into effect. Reality is a level 6 means countries with wealth and means are forced to use those means to assist countries that do not medically. That's it in a non-paranoid nutshell.

If you wish to know the origin of virus that depends what you mean. If you point to a virus right now and ask where did THAT virus come from, that virus was made by a cell in an animal or plant's body. Some other virus infected the cell, and hijacked the cell's nucleus, the command center for the cell. Instead of instructing the cell to do what it's supposed to do for the animal or plant, the virus forced the cell's command center to instruct the cell to make copies of the virus. The cell did so. Eventually the cell made so many new viruses that the cell burst open, and all the new viruses escaped.

Where did the other virus come from? It, too, was made by an infected cell, possibly a cell in the same animal, possibly a cell in another animal. And where did THAT virus come from? Another infected cell. And so forth and so on. You will find that of course there is no single fossil virus, they are too frail so did the rise from the muck of evolution did God say well I need to make a virus, that I can't answer.

I do no that the H1N1's unique part is not what you think it is. Zoonosis is generally an event that causes a human to contract a virus from an animal, that human did not have the ability to infect another human, they got sick they were treated and no one else was at risk. The uniqueness of this virus is when it infected humans, humans were able to infect humans. That got WHO's attention.

I hope this may gift a look from a different view.

I'm not going to argue whether the
virus occured naturally or not. I don't
know enough about it to make a statement
on that.
But, the lawsuit involved in this story
has merit, Ms.Burgermeister has cause to

While everyone is freaking about all this, my whole family has had 'swine' flu. Public Health said the labs were overwhelmed, so just self-quarantine ourselves. My son continued to go to school because teachers said they would flunk people who missed. My daughter and I had a bad flu, very unpleasant and long recuperation, but then we also have Lyme disease, that 'denied' disease that is spreading just like in the film 'Outbreak'. It is a different and more virulent form of the tick borne disease that is found everywhere on Earth. It just happened to break out on an Army base from which army personnel ferried over a short ride to a biological warfare lab in very sad shape originally run by one of Hitler's top scientists,(operation Paperclip - check it out) brought over to the USA (not on the mainland, that would be 'dangerous' to study hoof and mouth, Rift valley fever, and numerous other extremely severe diseases like West Nile - funny coincidence? He had a particular interest in tick borne diseases and bred 100's of thousands of them, even developing a way to spread them across a country to kill all the animals used to feed people, except the dummies forgot that virus and bacteria mutate and cross species. I'm disabled because of Lyme, as are hundreds of thousands of people in the US and Canada.
Another point: I have watched as the entire population of pigeons, swallows and other birds in this area disappear completely, yet our government had everyone looking for 'dead crows'. The crow population is just fine. So, migrating birds carry bird flu, There is a massive die-off of birds, people get sick..... Seems VERY straighforward to me. I consider the US liable for the accidental release of a life destroying disease from a lab ignored and left to deteriorate because it "only did research on animal diseases" What idiocy!!
My own government is doing its colonial thing and behaving itself by denying the existence of these diseases.

Again, this happens all the time. It's not new. Viruses are able to recombine with DNA from other viruses. This allows them to pick up aspects of viruses from multiple species. It happens in nature all the time when air born virus particles come in contact with each other.

The cause is most likely what I have said it is: factory farming. This places thousands of potentially sick animals in close proximity with thousands of potentially sick workers. Its prime breeding ground for new virus species to arise because the odds of a virus coming in contact with another one and picking up new DNA are very high.

I agree that drug companies are evil, but I do not believe they are intentionally making us sick. I believe they are evil because they use drug patents to obtain exclusive rights to new treatments, and then they charge people thousand and thousands of dollars for life saving treatments. But when it comes to them intentionally making us sick by intentionally creating and releasing new viruses? There are several reasons I can't believe that.

1. Ockham's razor needs to apply. THere's a perfectly natural explanation for why this is happening that fits within all we know about science, and that is consistent with viruses that could arise from slaughterhouses and factory farms. This is the simplest and most likely scenario.

2. It's very hard to believe that this kind of thing could be going on without whistle blowers who actually work for the drug companies coming forward. I mean we are talking what has to be one of the greatest and most evil conspiracies in human history. Someone is going to blow the whistle.

3. Keep in mind that most of these researchers have family and close friends of their own. Any virus they intentionally release has just as much of a chance of infecting people close to them as it does anyone else. I find it very hard to believe that they are that sinister that they are willing to risk their own families and others close to them like this.

I just don't think you get enough people to agree to participate, or have no one who knows it is going on not blow the whistle. Not in a conspiracy this large.

I'm very familiar with the ferret case you are talking about as I actually studied it extensively in a directed research program at college when I was looking into the possibility of vaccinating wild lions against canine distemper to avoid additional outbreaks like the one that wiped out 1/3 of Tanzania's lion population. In the case of the ferrets, this is the DNR's fault, not the drug company's fault. The DNR used a live canine distemper vaccine that had never been tested in, and was not approved for use in ferrets. Instead of protecting them against canine distemper, it gave them canine distemper. The DNR was using the vaccine for an off label purpose. In species that the vaccine is approved for use in, it has been perfectly safe. In ferrets, they should have used either a killed virus vaccine, or a modified-live virus (recombinant DNA vaccine). Neither one would have had any potential to cause to cause canine distemper (the killed DNA one cannot replicate because it is dead. The recombinant one is live canine distemper DNA combined with live Canarypox virus. The Canarypox virus cannot replicate inside of mammalian cells, but it can deliver the viral DNA inside of them to stimulate an immune response).

If the drug company had approved the vaccine for use in ferrets, and it killed all of them off, then you could legitimately blame the drug company. But again, in this case, the DNR was using the vaccine off-label to vaccinate a species it was not approved for. the blame for this one lies soley on the DNR.

Canada to Vaccinate Entire Population

Five-to-40-year-olds and Canada's aboriginal communities should be the first to get vaccinated against human swine flu, experts say as Canadian officials decide who gets priority for the flu shots.

Under Canada's official pandemic plan, the entire population would ultimately be immunized against the H1N1 swine flu.

But the vaccine will become available in batches, meaning the entire population can't be vaccinated at once. It might take four or five months to get all the vaccine we're going to get, during which time a second wave of swine flu may well be underway.

The Public Health Agency of Canada is working on a priority list, deciding where the first batches should go, and who should get the injections first. All provinces and territories would be expected to follow the national prioritization scheme.

Unlike normal seasonal flu, the H1N1 virus appears to be disproportionately infecting older children and young adults. So far the largest number of confirmed cases have occurred in people between the ages of five and 24.

"It doesn't mean they're all getting sick and need to be hospitalized, but they're getting significant illness," said Dr. Noni MacDonald, a leader in pediatric infectious diseases and a professor of pediatrics at Dalhousie University in Halifax.

British researchers reported last week that targeting children first would protect not only them, but also unvaccinated adults.

"Even if you are concerned about the elderly, who are often mentioned as another risk group, their main connection to the big pool of infection is often their grandchildren," said Dr. Thomas House of the University of Warwick.

But adults older than 64 don't appear to be at increased risk of H1N1-related complications so far in the outbreak. It's possible they have some antibodies against the virus.

As well, children "are known to be really important for transmitting flu," said Earl Brown, executive director of the Emerging Pathogens Research Centre at the University of Ottawa.

"They're important for the cycle of infection. They tend to be naive as far as not having flu antibodies in their system before. And really young kids, their immune systems aren't fully mature.

"Children tend to be hit, and they can be hit harder," Brown said. By immunizing children first, "you get to try to block spread, and protect a vulnerable group."

Gymnasiums would be used for mass school-based vaccination programs but experts say the harder to reach group will be the 18-to-30-year-olds.

Who stands to profit from mass injections?...Is this warranted and who gives a damn if the flu is passed on via injections?...Pandemic?...Is it?...So far NOT!

First of all, it IS a pandemic based on well defined criteria that define what a pandemic is. Please note that pandemic does NOT have to particularly deadly. A pandemic just means that something is undergoing sustained transmission in multiple regions of the world.

Second of flu injections CANNOT infect people with the flu! I have asthma, so influenza can be a big problem for me if I get it. I've been getting a flu injection every year for about 14 years now. The result? I haven't had the flu in 14 years.

Why are people getting so worked up over the swine flu injection? It's no different than any other flu injection really. The only reason we weren't already including swine flu in the flu injection is because no one saw it coming. So we didn't have vaccine ready for it.

Who should get vaccinated? The same type of people who should get vaccinated with the normal influenza vaccine. The elderly, and others at higher risk of complications from the flu due to underlying medical conditions.

Since my complaint to the Singapore govt why they wish to consider forced Gardasil vaccine (May 2009), it has made them SIT UP and take notice. I hope they do not change their minds LAST MINUTE to mandate the H1N1 vaccine!

Panthera, then we've had pandemics for YEARS!! Common cold has killed far more than what the H1N1 has killed. It is easy to see why they are not forcing people to take the common flu vaccine - people WON'T BUY IT. But for a new never-before disease like H1N1, people can be scared stiff!

Judy, the problem is that viruses that spread quickly and for which people do not have immunity can also mutate quickly into more deadly strains. The fact that it is not particular lethal right now doesn't mean it won't become so later if it is left unaddressed.

Kelly, H1N1 is not an accurate way to say this really. H1N1 is the most common cause of influenza in humans. It is also the cause of the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic that killed approximately 100 million people around the world, or about 1/16th of the entire population of the world at the time. Swine flu is not a new disease. It is a new strain of H1N1. Fortunately, it is not as deadly as the H1N1 strain that killed 100 million people in 1918. But again, viruses that spread rapidly can mutate rapidly and become more deadly. That's why we want to stop them before they become deadly and before we have another Spanish flu like pandemic on our hands that kills hundreds of millions of people.
