The Republicans have more than health care reform in their bombsights - they want a loss for Obama so crushing it will bring the administration to its knees and restore GOP control of Congress after next year's elections. Sick? I care, RepubliCONS don't!

Bill Moyers and Michael Winship, Truthout.org:

"The Republicans have more than health care reform in their bombsights - they want a loss for Obama so crushing it will bring the administration to its knees and restore GOP control of Congress after next year's elections. In the words of Republican Senator Jim DeMint, 'If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him."

Push finally came to shove in Washington this week as the battle for health care escalated from scattered sniper fire into all-out combat. If it all seems to be getting more and more confusing, join the club. It's hard to see what's happening through all the gun smoke.

The RepubliCONS have more than health care reform in their bombsights - they want a loss for Obama so crushing it will bring the administration to its knees and restore GOP control of Congress after next year's elections. In the words of RepubliCON Senator Jim DeMint, "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him."

The "Waterloo" of DeMint's metaphor, of course, is not the 1974 Abba hit but the battle in 1815 that ended Napoleon Bonaparte's rule as Emperor of France - a humiliating defeat and a turning point in European history. Right-wingers like Glenn Beck see Obama as Napoleon incarnate, a popular emperor who must be stopped.

Here's what Beck said on his television show Monday, July 20: "I'm telling you, this guy is dangerous. He's never lost before. He won't understand ... like, 'Who are you to question me?' I mean, this guy is practically an imperial President now. When he starts to lose and people start to question him and push him back against the wall, he's not gonna know how to react."

The RepubliCON strategy is almost identical to the way they turned health care into Waterloo for Bill and Hillary Clinton in 1993. Back then, one of their chief propagandists, William Kristol, urged his party to block any health care plan for fear that Democrats would be seen as "the generous protector of middle class interests." Now he's telling the GOP to "go for the kill ... throw the kitchen sink ... drive a stake through its heart ... We need to start over."

So in lockstep are the RepubliCONS that when strategist Alex Castellanos issued a memo outlining their battle plan, party chairman Michael Steele parroted large sections of it word for word in a speech at Washington's National Press Club. Asked a health care-related question that took him off script, Steele replied, "I don't do policy."

As the Republicasseholes fired away, big business stepped up the attack too, their lobbying and advertising guns blazing. The Chamber of Commerce, for one, announced a major campaign of rallies and print and Internet ads to crush the White House plan for a competitive public option allowing consumers to choose between a government plan and private health insurance. In key states where members of Congress remain on the fence, the airwaves are vibrating with television commercials aimed at shifting hearts and minds away from any change that might threaten profits. President Obama rejected the RepublicONS' Waterloo metaphor and mounted a massive media counteroffensive of his own. But the President has already run into booby traps of his own making and minefields laid by members of his own party, exacerbated when the Congressional Budget Office reported that reform plans, instead of controlling costs, would send the national debt further into the stratosphere.

Meanwhile, supporters who want to scrap the present system for fundamental change are staring glumly though the fog of war at a battlefield in total disarray. They fear that in the White House's desire to get a bill - any bill - passed by Congress, it will have been so compromised, so bent to favor the big interests, that it will be less Waterloo than watered down, a steady diluting of the change they had hoped for and that America needs.

The big drug companies are already so pleased with what they've been promised that they've brought back Harry and Louise - the make-believe couple who starred in TV ads that helped torpedo the Clinton health care plan - but this time they're in favor of reform.

According to The Associated Press, the drug industry's trade group PhRMA (the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America) and the drug company Pfizer "reported spending more money than other health care organizations on lobbying in the second quarter of this year" - $6.2 million from PhRMA, $5.6 million from Pfizer.

"Including its latest report, PhRMA has now spent $13.1 million lobbying so far this year. Pfizer has reported $11.7 million in lobbying expenses for 2009."

This is part of the reason, as Alicia Mundy and Laura Meckler recently wrote in The Wall Street Journal, that "the pharmaceuticals industry, which President Barack Obama promised to 'take on' during his campaign, is winning most of what it wants in the health-care overhaul."

Their story describes "a string of victories" plucked from the Senate Finance Committee by drug company lobbyists, including no cost-cutting steps, no cheaper drugs to be allowed across the border from Canada, and no direct Federal government negotiations with the pharmaceutical companies to lower Medicare drug prices.

And that's not all. The Senate Health Committee is giving the biotech industry monopoly protection against competition from generic drugs for 12 years after they go on the market.

No wonder the cost of reform keeps going up and up and up. Could it be that Harry and Louise are happier because, this time, they're in on the deal?
----------------------------------------------------------------
I guess the choice is now RepubliCONS or healthcare for all?...Go Obama! We prefer a healthy world to political gain at any cost! (Any cost? To hell with the sick peasants, we want power!)

That might be what Republicans want but that is not what they are going to get! Obama is not perfect but he did more for the People in his short time in office than Bush did in all his years. Obama is clearly an ALL Peoples President. He is fair and will give the People what they want! I don't see republicans making a come back for a LONG while! They can dream though and chant yes they can!!

Senate Report Finds Insurers Wrongfully Charged Consumers Billions
24 Jun 2009 Health insurers have forced consumers to pay billions
of dollars in medical bills that the insurers themselves should
have paid, according to a report released today by the staff of
the Senate Commerce Committee. The report was part of a multi-pronged
assault on the credibility of private insurers by Commerce Committee
Chairman John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.). It came at a time when
Rockefeller, President Obama and others are seeking to offer a
public alternative to private health plans as part of broad health

can to block the public option.

David is my Aussie friend who believes that "We"
Americans deserve a health care system that works
for all the people and, works the way a health system
should, the first time around! American's are no longer
going to stand for being test subjects, guinea pigs for the
Insurers, Pharmaceuticals, etc., while waiting for our elected,
well healed, great insurance benefits and the perks which go
with it, legislators, to finally get it right, only, after many
American's have suffered and or died from
"DAMAGED CARE" ___Been there, seen that!

Obama, the American people, all colors and shades in between,
are firmly behind you and your efforts, but, unless you bite the
bullet, "We" lose, and, so do you Obama! Health care that
works is the peoples' mantra! Health care providers who
give a damn, no others need apply!

Insurance companies out of the equation! Out of the lives
of those who need a healing of body, mind and spirit.
The injured or ill can only heal if they are left in peace
not harassed by Insurers and those who serve their
dastardly agendas! Health care has been, far too
long, whether you have insurance or not,
Damaged Care!

ENOUGH!

Do not keep asking the American people to give it up.
The legislators had better get their priorities in order!
Those who elected them have aired their voice's.
The majority of American's, on both sides of the
political spectrum, have said,
"Single Payer"______________Clean your ears out you

Big Pharma is a 300 billion dollar industry and who knows what insurance is worth so they will NOT go down easy besides the fact that they own most of Congress. No matter what, even if we get a decent plan it will be constantly under attack.
What people may or may not be understanding is that our gov is co owners with Monsanto. The people who design food to make us sick. They feed Big Pharma and Psychiatry who has plans to multiple their 300 billion and 350 billion dollar empires hundredfold. Insurance is another scam designed to ensure that we do not get get well or be covered.
Obama is bought and paid for and has his own plans with the programme and the Repubs are just playing the game. It is all a smoke screen.
In order to effectively and permanently get rid of such opposition we have to unite and demand what we want. A decent medical programme that covers everything and every citizen. The people are the power and they are ultimately scared of us. If we don't buy they loose.
If we don't read the bills and allow all kinds of amendments we are doomed. We need a fol proof system that no one can adjust or change after we get what we what want unless we say. It is OUR coverage not theirs. We need to own it!

Probably 80% of the people need a public health care plan maybe not unlike Medicare...and to let the pharmeceuticals and incusrance companies play them like puppets on a string is sad. Of the 86% of Americans that went to some kind of church today why weren't the preachers raising the roofs off for the people to do something, instead of staying silent like a bunch of zoombies. Year after year this keeps happening again and again, and the people suffer and do without while Big Brother makes billions...

Republicans are not the only ones for whom Obama's healthcare plot is a nightmare....it is a nightmare for every U.S. citizen. Fortunately, there are some dems who are not blindly following what Obama and his bots are trying to push down our throats...and hopefully, more will see the disaster for what it is. We need some reform...but not what is being proposed. It is disturbing to see people blindly supporting whatever BHO dishes out....do your research; see who is going to pay for this very costly grasp at more control by the government; see who will decide what treatment we get and what treatment gets denied to us (and it won't be our doctors making that decision); see that our tax dollars will be paying for abortions classified as healthcare (not just abortions that threaten the life of the woman); see that senior citizens will be denied treatment because it won't be cost effective and they will therefore, have a "duty" to die; see the government having access to our very personal medical records; see a shortage of medical care providers because people will have no incentive to become doctors and nurses. Take a look at Medicare/Medicaid, VA care, Social Security --- and you will get a glimpse into the future of healthcare and the government's inefficiency in handling same. This should not be a Republican vs. Democrat issue....it should be "what is best for all American citizens". For those that are in favor of this just because BHO wants it....I urge you to do your research; learn exactly what this entails; ask questions !! America does not need the healthcare plan currently being proposed. We do not need the government to decide what we need when it comes to healthcare.

$Tupid Republican Secessionist Texas Gov. Rick Perry Threatens To Invoke 10th Amendment To Reject Health Care Reform

"It really is a state issue, and if there was ever an argument for the 10th Amendment and for letting the states find a solution to their problems, this may be at the top of the class," Republican Governor Perry
said.

Texas has the highest percentage of those without health insurance in the
entire country. A U.S. Census Bureau report released last August showed that nearly 25 percent of Texans (just over 5.5 million residents) lacked insurance (compared to a national average of 15.5 percent). A Families USA report released in March found that the number of uninsured in Texas throughout 2007 and 2008 is much higher, around 9.3 million:

The report went further to say that 7.5 million Texans were uninsured for six months or more during that same time period and about 82.6 percent, were in working families, either working full or part-time.

Steele says he fears health reform because it could be like the GOP’s intervention in Terri Schiavo’s case.Although Steele is quick to hold up Schiavo as an example of the wrong type of reform, the Republican leaders who are crafting the GOP’s reform proposals are the same legislators who demanded that Congress intervene into the Schiavo case. Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), chairman of the Republican “Health Care Solutions Group,” demanded that members to return to Washington for the Schiavo special session. Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), who introduced the GOP’s alternative health plan in the Senate, joined with Sen. Bill Frist (R-TN) to intervene in the Schiavo issue.

Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, told Bloomberg's Al Hunt today that he thinks the odds of passing health care reform this year are "very, very good."

And yet, he keeps tweeting messages that suggest he's not exactly committed to meaningful reform.

Also...to suggest that Republicans would use this as a weapon against Obama is ludicrous. Is it a play against peoples' conscience? The Republicans are against this for some very good reasons. If it does not pass, it will not be the end of Obama, and to suggest otherwise makes no sense. President Clinton had a failed healthcare plan in 1993. Did it defeat him? NO !! This is just another tactic used by Dems to try and maintain support for their plans to take even more control of our lives by using their smoke and mirrors to make something appear as something it is not. Go Gina!...No abortion, no healthcare for the needy...Let's leave it in the hands of God?...Get real, it's 2009 not 0000 and The Repubs will use every weapon they can...

Rep. Roy Blunt, leader of the supposed House GOP Health Care Solutions Group, suggested Thursday that Republicans won't offer a health care plan of their own, Minority Leader John Boehner insisted one was still in the works. (Who knows? We don't)

Of course, the Republican plan as in 1993 is to stop health care reform at all costs to prevent an enduring Democratic majority. Bill Kristol, who told Republicans 16 years ago that there was "no crisis" justifying health care reform then, now simply calls on his party to "kill it." With spinmeisters Frank Luntz and Alex Castellanos supplying the talking points that a supposed "government takeover of health care" is "too much, too fast, too soon," obstructionists like Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe boasted his party would "stall" President Obama's health care initiative to ensure a "huge gain" in the 2010 election. In a nutshell, the GOP is proposing to extend the status quo for a nation gripped by a collapsing health care system.

Here, then, is the Republican 10-Point Plan for Health Care:

1. 50 Million Uninsured in America
2. Another 25 Million Underinsured
3. Employer-Based Coverage Plummets Below 60%
4. Employer Health Costs to Jump by 9% in 2010
5. One in Five Americans Forced to Postpone Care
6. 62% of U.S. Bankruptcies Involve Medical Bills
7. Current Health Care Costs Already Fueling Job Losses
8. 94% of Health Insurance Markets in U.S Now "Highly Concentrated"
9. Dramatic Decline in Emergency Room Capacity
10. Perpetuating Red State Health Care Failure

Guess you are right after all Gina?

Financial Incentives

Beyond the obvious and par-for-the-course racial angle, I guess by this logicwe shouldn't allow a public plan to help cover chemotherapy, lest we incentivize cancer? Maybe the GOP opposes universal healthcare because it will incentivize people to get sick? Or something.

Gina said,

"Also...to suggest that Republicans would use this as a weapon against Obama is ludicrous."

Reading this sentence alone, one must wonder what rock Gina has been hiding under for the past 20 years. It seems to imply that the Republican party always plays fair and is incapable of using a hotbed political issue to attempt to poison voters against Democrats. I can only assume, due to extraordinary level of ignorance displayed in the one sentence I quoted, that Gina spends much of her time listening to Fox news and likely also to Limbaugh. It's hard for me to fathom the amount of brainwashing necessary to convince someone that Republicans play nice in the political arena, and that Republicans might actually support an Obama initiative that wasn't intended to help their robber-baron buddies get yet richer on the backs of America's poor and middle classes.

What are you going to tell us next Gina, that the Republican party is opposing Obama's plan because they're about to reveal their own health reform plan which will force the drug companies to hand out free meds to the poor and the insurance companies to actually take care of all of their insured?

Are the Republicans offering any plans whatsoever as to what we should do to fix the disaster that is American health care? Not that I've heard, everything they say on the subject seems to be designed to sink Obama anyway they can, no matter what the cost to working-class America.

Wake up Gina, it's 2009 and the political party you argue blindly for has spent the last 8 years plus screwing this country's people any way it could!!

David,

Recently I learned that Bill Moyer had been in the Bilderberg camp for a long time. Might want to check that out.

Most People today once they get the Real Picture of the Predator Beast [the Bilderbergs] they throw away all there party affiliations. For that too has been a con all along, David Rockefeller is their King of the World System and it simply does not matter who is elected as President.

So the games go on to confuse, bewilder, upset, unwind all the many in our Nation while behind the scenes the Bilderberg push the Agenda of their King David Rockefeller.

David it is easy for you to blame Republicans for the Obama Health Care plan hold up, but you should do the math. The US House has 256 Democrats and 178 Republicans. In the US Senate there are only 40 Republicans out of 100 - not enough to even filibuster. So there is NO way the Republicans have the power to hold up the bill. The Dems could bring it to a vote today if they wanted to. What is happening is the citizens of the US, while overall in favor in some reform, DO NOT like the Obama Health plan as is presented. They are calling their congressional representatives and complaining. Check the polls. People do not like this bill. Obama himself said he has not even read the whole bill. WTF?
Are you somehow in favor of the Democrats not listening to their constituents? I called my Democratic US Senator, who I voted for, and asked her not to vote for this monstrosity. This is not about Health Care. This is purely about government control. I do not want a bloated, corrupt, and inefficient government controlling my or my family's medical care - or anything else in my life for that matter.

Go Nacy!
Go Gina!

Goooooo Blue Dawgs!

Everybody wants some type of reform or for something to be done.
May be if people like David (who doesn't even live in this country mind you) and Blue actually read the bill. Just like Obama WHO HAS not read the bill.

Everybody would understand WHY 57% (and growing) disagree with this plan.
Would think that if people put their the same amount of energy and time into vetting these Czars like Susutein , who co-authored a book on sterilizing the human population by any means necessary, that we would not have this gap between people here in America.
Although I do have to say that gap seems to be closing pretty rapidly!
And not for the benefit of the current administration.
Good day all!=)

For anyone interested in actually doing any reading. And understanding the truth about the bill. Please see the link above as it is the bill in full context.
be aware it is a large file there might take a while to load. You can also go to govtrack.com to reference any bill (unless it's a stimulus plan) to get the facts of the contents of each bill and who voted on it etc...

Very good NON-PARTISAN references. I posted the CBO report on the bill as an article if anyone who really cares about what is happening wants to find out more.

Nancy L is right-Either vote 3rd party or join the movement to publicly say we will not vote because our vote doesn't matter-Do one or the other because if U do not then we keep adding to the problem.Democrats and Republicons have had the power back and forth 4/ever-look where we are.
On Health Care reform
We do not need to rush this vote on health care or any other thing - Ever heard this? "the faster I go the behinder I get" We require a REAL solution here one that someone took the time to READ and SEE if it is a viable plan- One should know what is within those pages currently being argued. How many people here took the time to read what is in that bill? I read what it is supposed to be before it got there but I have not read it since. I will correct that-To those that are concerned about government control over their health care-Have U read the Bill? If U have then please share with us what was in it that concerned U. If U have not read it and have made that statement- I have a question for U-What is Ur solution to the problem?
It seems that U do not mind large insurance corporations controlling ur heathcare but U do not want the gov. to do it. Makes no sense to me but OK.
Personally I cannot see much difference except this one-When Insurance companies control ur health care-they get to tell U who U can see and who they will not pay for U to see.what treatments U will receive based on what they will pay for and what treatments you will not receive based on what they will not pay for.Same with medicines-U will get whatever medicine the insurance companies will pay for unless U urself want to pay for it. Insurance companies can and do dictate to doctors how long U will stay in the hospital -oftentimes against ur doctors advice-u will be released because ur insurance company said they will not pay for another day. So for those of U who have insurance and are here saying that U do not want government controlling ur health-care -U must be saying that it is OK for the insurance companies to do it instead. If the gov is in control insurance companies are not and the doctors might be able to say what needs to be done instead of insurance companies- To me that is reason enough to who the insurance companies will not cover like my daughter-This health care plan reform supposedly came from the American Medical Ass.-not that I am a large fan of them -however I have read that plan several times and it is a good one and would wrk. The bill currently before our Congress is supposed to be based on that plan. That is why I am for it. Now if people in gov have added or taken away from that plan-I do not know it -that is why I am interested in reading the bill currently on the floor regarding Heathcare.I am tired of Political Knee jerk reactions from people who have not read anything regarding this bill at all except whatever propaganda their favorite party wanted them to hear or what the media who is often biased based on their favorite party to support, dogma said. READ THE BILL-GO VISIT THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASS.WEBSITE AND CLICK ON VOICE FOR THE UNINSURED OR SEARCH ENGINE THAT TERM AND THEN MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION BASED ON THAT NOT POLITICS AND NOT BASED ON WHATEVER SOME CURRENT POLITICAL STAR SAID THAT IS CURRENTLY IN THE NEWS!

This should say
-U must be saying that it is OK for the insurance companies to do it instead. If the gov is in control insurance companies are not and the doctors might be able to say what needs to be done instead of insurance companies- To me that is reason enough to want the reform. What about people who the insurance companies will not cover like my daughter-

This is what the paragraph above originally said- but because of a malfunction while I was editing-- the whole sentence stucture did not make it onto the final copy.

I am currently reading the bill as Lady Libertarian has placed website address to it-I am about halfway through it-and so far I am not seeing what the problem is regarding objections to this bill being passed-there were a few things that I am not sure about however overall it looks fair so far.
It limits premiums, provides for those that are currently uninsurable allows U to choose what insurance company U want to or one can choose the Health exchange program as currently defined by this bill-it would be offered at wrk through employers and U would get to choose it or not just has one chooses stuff now-so I will continue to read. I hope others will take the time to read it as well.

They do not seem to mind spending our money to bail out Billionaires. They did not seem to mind spending our money in the Trillions on war, they did not seem to mind spending Billions on bailing out the auto industry.
But they mind spending money on making sure all have access to health care which is in a form of free choice??????? WTF!!!!!!???????

What is Right is Right and should stay the same

What is Wrong does not Belong

In our Cities, States and Federal Government

By Dwight Baker

December 25, 2008

The vile open festering wound ---- the nastiest of all societal objectionable wretchedness ------that stinks in the nostrils of our GOD ----- is prevalent in our American culture today. And that is seen and heard in all forms from the many that seek and tend to create all evil avenues in the pursuit of the NEED for GREED. Thus that lack of respect for each other’s rights to life has become a target for many to lay in wait with prospects to subvert and steal any way from others what they can.

They see no consequences for their sweeping shameful and illegal deeds done. In doing they can claim our rich and abundant America for their own personal gain. And that has been seen in the many enterprises from the smallest to the biggest of Predator Beast in around America today. Thus many seeking to fulfill the actions for the NEED for GREED have become a staple in our economy as many just looked away and said nothing.

Because of the lack of the enforcement of the RULES of law those things have become paramount. And in so doing the overt and total lack of respect and obedience for all manners of LAW has been the launching pad for many white-collar criminals and some lesser crooks too. Thus that has been the core of the present rebellion tearing our nation apart. And is against the basic law of a good and godly conscience needed in a sane society. To that end if the Obvious Need for Greed is not soon stopped we will have proved to our fellow man and history that as a once great and sanguine society we have not the will to rule ourselves any longer.

Thus at our doorsteps today ---- pleads the voices of wisdom and intellect saying, Arise and Shine. Sweep out the criminals and get started again rebuilding our Nation. Ruler ship over the masses around the world today has not proven to dispel the Predator Beast of mankind from seeking personal gains while in administration of government functions for the people.

Therefore people here and around the world are looking to us to have a plan that works for the betterment of not only us here but them also. The void is seen in our civility that the many bright ones who have proved their worth in academics and governmental service have sold out their original ideas. Most of them have with good conscience sold their creations to the mainstream Barons of Trade and Commerce those who control the governmental agents and benefactors to extend their rule.

And many of them have been recruited into think tanks to propel the agenda of the sponsors. Much like those who have creativity today, who have the skills to originate patents. Many them prefer to work within the framework of academics or corporate America instead of as an individual to champ the idea to creation and then on into the markets. Thus in them the Predator Beast is not the idea of the rights for individuals in Free Enterprise or the spirit of entrepreneurship. And what remains lacking in the Predator Beast is the will of steel to push their ideas to the market for all to profit.

In that context we see many that have originated Web sites today coming from academia or corporate America to re-create what they come from ---- but for them to have their own say and way and make a profit. And often those have grand ideas of becoming part and parcel to the News and Entertainment media to enhance their individual egos more fail miserably to preserver. Thus their agenda becomes one of building large subscribers list to sell their exposure to the highest bidders. Then we must ask what have been their real motives? Because now most of them plea for more money to come in because of budget short falls.

And what have been seen in most of them is nothing more than a reverberation of grips and complaints but nothing much more. No real call to action that would change a thing. Therefore what are the consequences for those many Web sites today? I think dim.

Because to read then post becomes a waste of time, most of us know what we want but at this time a forum is not present that has the power to take our pleas, demands, desires and wishes then represent them in an orderly fashion to the Administration and or CONGRESS with the power punch by the strongest lobby that could be bought.

What we need at this time is a We the People Advocates with the peoples Voice to be heard and Voting rights for all proposed legislation and input with the legal staff with their ideas as the legislation takes form in construction.

We must in an effort hurriedly stop being as mundane morose morons and take on the right and just tasks of changing one vital missing step in our current democratic process by adding a true voice of We the People in having and supporting our own lobby in Washington DC.

From: "Health care system and health care reform in Germany"

http://www.bmg.bund.de/cln_160/nn_1169696/EN/Gesundheit/gesundheit__node.html?__nnn=true

This is the official website of the Ministry of Health and Social Matters in Germany

Quote:

"However, a health care system is not a "normal" market. After all, it places even more importance on care standards and service quality than other sectors do. Here, too, Germany scores high on quite a few counts:

* It is far easier to obtain out-of-hours medical attention here than in most other countries and, very importantly, this is so regardless of income or insurance status.

* Wait times for hospital care ... are shorter here than elsewhere.

Also, no such thing as "Preconditions" exists in Germany!

And

"Universal coverage

From now on, all citizens in Germany will enjoy health insurance coverage. From 1st January 2009, and for the first time in German social history, all residents are obliged to take out health insurance unless they are otherwise covered. Persons who had lost their insurance cover must return to their most recent insurer. This applies to the statutory and the private insurance system alike. "

Addendum: If someone cannot pay for his own health insurance (minimum wages apply), the state pays the premiums. This is a legalized RIGHT for citizens of Germany!

Don't opt for less, Americans! Don't let them tell you, it can't be done - because it can!

If we can, then you can, too. YES, YOU CAN!

The Bills are Bad

FEDERAL HEALTH BILL CALLS FOR BILLIONS IN ORWELLIAN PSYCH PROGRAMS AND TREATMENTS

Information: There is currently an effort in Congress to pass a massive “Health Care Reform” bill. In fact, Congressional leadership is doing everything in its power to pass this $1 trillion plus bill before the August recess. Action is called for, NOW. Here's why.

There are two versions of the bill — one in the House (H.R. 3200) and one in the Senate (there is no number for the Senate bill at this point, but it is titled the Affordable Health Choices Act).

Both bills forward massive increases in government funding of mental health programs that turn America into a full blown therapeutic state.

The Senate bill (the Affordable Health Choices Act) includes:

*

Funding for community based “Health Teams,” which will establish a system of early identification and referral for children at risk for developmental or behavioral problems.
*

Allocation of up to $5 billion every year for School Based Health Clinics to provide such services as: mental health assessments (screening), crisis intervention, treatment, counseling and referral to emergency psychiatric care.
*

A five-year program for the Center for Disease Control to provide public health “interventions,” screenings and clinical referrals for individuals between 55 and 64 years of age.
*

The creation of a new “paraprofessional child and adolescent mental health worker.” The legislation states that this is “...an individual who is not a mental or behavioral health service professional, but who works at the first stage of contact with children and families who are seeking mental or behavioral health services.”

The House bill (H.R. 3200) includes:

*

This bill also calls for the establishment of School Based Health Clinics that will provide mental health assessments (screening), crisis intervention, treatment, counseling and referral to emergency psychiatric care.
*

Specific funding for mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists.
*

The bill creates a home visitation program for families with young children or which are expecting children or who have certain “risk factors.” The program, which is stated as voluntary, provides assessments regarding matters of “age appropriate behaviors,” for children, prevention of family violence and referral to outside services.
*

The bill mandates a sweeping mental health parity, which could well encompass all 374 diagnoses in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) and opens the door to coverage for everything from phase of life problem to sibling rivalry disorder. The costs would be horrendous.
*

The bill provides for unlimited mental health benefits. As there is no objective or medical test for psychiatric disorders, this is a virtual blank check to the mental health industry.

Psychiatric patients are traditionally “cured” when their insurance benefits run out. In this bill, those benefits never run out. And without anything other than a psychiatrist's opinion about whether or not the person's “illness” is “cured,” this legislation becomes nothing more than taxpayer funded billions to psychiatrists, who will continue their jihad of mass drugging of Americans.

Your voice needs to be heard TODAY in Washington on these outrageous bills. Call, fax, or email your Representative and Senator TODAY and tell them that you are opposed to the above points (pick 3-4) in the Health Care Reform bills. To find your Representative and get their contact information, go to http://www.house.gov/ and to find your Senator and get their contact information, go to http://www.senate.gov/.

Glenn Beck saying that Obama is an
"imperial president", when I'm sure
he never said the same about GWB, is
an outrage. But, that's really not the
problem here.
The Repugs would be more than happy to
torpedo health care reform if they believed
it would bring Obama down. The Repugs would
sacrifice millions of sick & dying people,
myself included, merely to score a political
victory. Desparate people do desparate things,
and the Repugs have got to be mighty desparate
right now. When their best choice for a candidate
in 2012 is Sarah Palin....? Well, YOU do the math
on that one.
When we understand the lengths to which the dis-loyal
opposition in Washington will go to save their own
pitiable sorry asses, that should be a genuine call
to arms for the rest of us, to do all we possibly can
to get good, sane health care passed. This is not a
political issue, it's a human issue, and the lives of
millions of sick, suffering, dying people are on the
lines. How much do YOU care about that?
David, my friend, you know you've made a damned-good
post when you bring all the froggy-faced little trolls
out from under their rocks and hiding places, and that's
what you've done here. Good onya, buddy!
Thanks, and noted.

Many good points on here and I have to really agree with Nancy L and Faith! Many many of our elected officials are bought and paid for which is so disgusting and traitorous! Damn money and the people who use it to buy people! Why a Senator or House Rep can not be a decent honest person who only works for the people and not for the corporations is beyond me!

I just love the movie, "Mr. Smith goes to Washington," with Jimmy Stewart. If you have never seen it please take the time. It's from 1939. You know when it was coming out,Congress offered a couple million if they would not show it and that was in 1939! I think our Senators and House reps should be required to watch it at least once a year. What a great patriotic how things should be movie!

Unless WE find a way to make laws stopping all corporate lobbyists with punishment for both the lobbyists and elected officials, I don't see an end to this. I guess Man just can not resist the tempation of a lot of money, sigh!

We the People Advocates game plan will improve all Democracies. We see the need to bring all good sources of news media in concert to help aid them with sufficient money to continue their role and to give them a place in our plan to continue their work in the awaking of mankind to their proper place of ruler-ship over them selves.

Read to plan and see how easy it will be to fit in. After tell US what your ideas are on how to change delete or improve the idea. We need an accomplished author to come on board soon to help write the book about the HOW TO DO IT. Once done and a best seller here we have plans to publish in all languages. The issue here is freaking red tape bull! If you even try and wade through all of the media hype, the biased claims by both parties, everyone interjecting their own views by saying a universal health plan is "socialism", then you have idiots like Rick Perry, that has NO business evening being the Governor of Texas.. (if Texas ever tried to "succeed" you would have Texans by the millions moving the hell out of this state for sure". I am so sick and tired of trying to comprehend anything the media says about any of it. They are more biased than our own government. IF it will SELL a paper, or get people watching, then the media goes not give a damned what they say or stir up.

The Republicans are peeved that they no longer have a majority, and since no one can find flaws with Obama or Sotomeyer, then they have to make stuff up in order for them to live down their bad reputations from people like "Ms. Hunting Queen of AK" , Palin!! That woman is a totally freaking idiot and her and Rick Perry should marry! I could not believe my own ears as the mess she said during her "exit" interview. Talk about someone that sounds backwards and uneducated! Dropping it on "Hollywood" causing the problems. What the heck does Hollywood have to do with anything? I would hope unless it is a "documentary" the majority of America is NOT INFLUENCED by some movie. If there are those that are, then they need to get a grip on reality versus fairy tales! I am an fairly intelligent person. I also know a lie most of the time when I hear it. And I have heard nothing really great come out of a Republicans mouth in forever. The government needs to do just what someone commented on as Germany did. You either have coverage and keep it, because you can afford it, and it works for you and your family. If you don't, then your employer, an outside source, or the government offers a plan that works for those without and you can afford that, OR if you are not able to purchase any type of health coverage (being for physical, mental or emotional illnesses) then the country provides a decent policy that does cover as well as an individual plan. All get paid across the board without having to high jack pricing on everything so they can get paid (per se the doctors, hospitals, clinics and so forth.) and either you are too poor to pay it and the government does, or you pay according to a sliding scale (which works in a clinic very well in my county in TX). Why a bill to reform health care and get coverage for all has to be riddled full of mess that does NOT have anything to do with health care, does NOT help the people of the USA, and has to have any and every thing thrown into be a monkey wrench in the system I just don't get. GROW THE HECK UP Congress and the Senate... quit bickering just to bicker! Rather than put your heads together and come up with something that will work for your citizens, you would rather fight, mud sling and act like a bunch of kindergartner's. This health care bill is NOT about YOU as A SENATOR, CONGRESS PERSON, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN! It it NOT about being a Texan, the color of your skin, the gender your are or how you vote! Keep it real people, it is about GETTING ALL AMERICANS' A DECENT HEALTH PLAN, that is AFFORDABLE or does cover those too poor to afford it, then it should be sliding scale or free! I think it also should be A PLAN that even if you work for the government and have their coverage, you WOULD TAKE THE PLANS if you did not have access to health coverage from the government! And I also feel if THE CONGRESS HAD ANY compassion for us as the PEOPLE, then THEY WOULD POSTPONE THEIR STUPID VACATIONS AND stay until A plan is HAMMERED OUT!

All of it is just nuts...and is now about "politics": again AND NOT HEALTH CARE FOR ALL!

Sue-below are the paragraphs that bother me on that part of the bill- I will go through them one by one-

“...an individual who is not a mental or behavioral health service professional, but who works at the first stage of contact with children and families who are seeking mental or behavioral health services.”

My thoughts
This one bothered me because People who have first contact should have training in what they are dealing with regarding emotional and mental imbalances because it is often from first contact people reports that assessments of care from that point on are made- so that brought up a concern for me.

The bill creates a home visitation program for families with young children or which are expecting children or who have certain “risk factors.” The program, which is stated as voluntary, provides assessments regarding matters of “age appropriate behaviors,” for children, prevention of family violence and referral to outside services.
My thoughts
I have no problem with this as long as it remains voluntary- by that I mean offered as a service but not required or penalized if refused
*

The bill mandates a sweeping mental health parity, which could well encompass all 374 diagnoses in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) and opens the door to coverage for everything from phase of life problem to sibling rivalry disorder. The costs would be horrendous.
My thoughts
Yes the cost would be horrendous- But people on state run programs already have this unlimited care -many states run a lottery or something to take the edge off the costs- hopefully this will be handled state by state just has medicaid and other fed/state run programs are.The difference here is that not all people would be on this program for free and a sliding fee scale should be in place thereby defraying the cost. also many would be paying for this program out of their paychecks is my understanding just like they do for other insurance. There is always the potential for abuse on any program and we pay for that abuse -called insurance fraud with higher premiums now -so we all pay for health care or the lack of it- one way or another it is expensive. The cost to society from those untreated disorders are already horrendous-But has always balance and common sense is required.
*

The bill provides for unlimited mental health benefits. As there is no objective or medical test for psychiatric disorders, this is a virtual blank check to the mental health industry.
My thoughts
A blank check to any industry bothers me for abuse and greed run rampant so a system of checks and balances should be in place to keep this from becoming a free get paid indefinitely by unscrupulous doctors.

My thoughts-
that is why second and third opinions are required by personal choice and is why self responsibility for ur own health is soo important. One could just say -NO to a doctors recommendations and stop seeing them and if one gets second and third opinions from doctors not affiliated with each other and one reads and researches their own conditions /or in the case of a person who cannot do this for themselves their guardians do it for them--this should eliminate that has a problem.
Thanx Sue for bringing this to my/our attention- I had not gotten that far in reading the bill yet-this definitely raises questions we should be asking about regarding implementation of the finer points of this bill.

AAAAAH, But it does not stop there Faith. The new DSM is being worked on and is due to come out int eh next year or so. It is meant to contain everything including the kitchen sink as a disorder. So, then how much would this bill cost us and to what degree of harm to those who deal with life in the best way they can.ie., us. Everything we do will become a disorder.
This bill is about mental health. NOT HEALTHCARE. These people have never cured anyone and yet are a 350 billion dollar industry and are run by Wall Street Bankers. They are on every mental health board worldwide. It is what is called DUMBING down America!

OUR FOCUS has lost it flavor and savor ---- griping and complaining --- who does that serve---- all the hard work going into discovery takes time and effort away from just living.

Now lets step back away from this posted site, and try our best to look at what was proposed we do?

Nothing much is going to change for us [except get ulcers] just griping and complaining and calling each other names.

Lets face the FACTS, the real FACTS not anything is going to change for us the common folks until we take our nation back out of the hands of the Predator Beast the King of the World Order David Rockefeller.

Once that is done---we will have the power to go to the heart of all this matters and correct each and every one, legally.

So the FOCUS should not be on things done today but on the Greater Good taking our nation back.

Nancy, is right. We are all in this together and we have to UNITE. It is the only way to fight this kind of stuff.
Again I will say, we are the POWER. We are the ones they are afraid of, elite and Politicians alike.
Why else do they continue to take away our rights?
They will win if we let them divide us. The tv ads that gov run healthcare is bad and the ones saying it is good are by the same sources. Totally with the attempt to divide.
We can get what we want but people must understand what is really going on first and not give in till we get what is right!

Thomas Jefferson declared, “Dissent is the essence of patriotism.” Patriotism goes beyond love of country and all the country stands for. Freedom, Liberty, the Pursuit of Happiness. ‘Dissent’ and ‘Patriotism’ seem to be at odds with each other! Why? When did the two become separate, one from another?

Patriotism goes beyond pledging allegiance to our Nation, voting, displaying our National Colors, serving on a jury or in the military. These are important, but they do not, by themselves, define patriotism. A Patriot certainly love's their country. Love of country, Justice and freedom gives US the courage to perform acts of patriotism. Patriots "Dare" Speak Truth to Power! More especially, directing our dissent towards those legislators, et al, who are not abiding by the Constitution and Bill of Rights! Who would "Dare" insult our better senses!

The essence of ones free will, Dissent, empowered our Founding Fathers! They realized "We" needed a foundation based on the empowering of "We" The People. So these wise men, putting all other manner of business aside, bestowed on the people of these United States the inalienable right to Dissent. And in doing so they opened the door for the pursuit of happiness which can only be derived at with the "Freedom to Pursue Justice.

When folks like Jefferson, put their pen to the Constitution and Bill of Rights they knew full well, something despicably lost on today's leaders, they knew full well that citizens of the new world were determined and had already proven to embrace freedom and, at any cost. It is my firm belief that our Free will is a gift from a higher power which is to be used wisely! Our First Amendment Right of ‘Free Speech’ guaranteed US the right to express our views as patriots. Yes Mr. Jefferson, “Dissent is, in it's essence, the highest form of patriotism!

Assume Nothing! Question Everything!

Hi folks...In the interest of fairness I do subscribe to both sides of the story and usually keep quiet about it...But this one is a doozy!...(Note tha 84% satisfaction rating for the "best healthcare system in the world" ???????...

From the Desk of:
David Martin, Executive Vice President

MEDIA RESEARCH CENTER
7/29/2009
David,

President Obama is using a familiar tactic to sell his plan to completely overhaul the best health care system in the world – fear! He knows that no one will support his socialist scheme unless he can convince America that there is a health care “crisis.”
There is no health care crisis! Polls show that 84% of Americans are “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with the health care they currently receive.
But you aren’t hearing that from the liberal media. Brent Bozell nailed it when he said, “The media need to stop acting like arsonists when it comes to their reporting on the U.S. health care system, starting a fire and then suggesting putting it out with a government takeover of one-fifth of our economy.”
Ever since Obama made health care the crisis of the day, the media have dealt us a steady diet of slanted coverage, distorting or omitting important facts along the way.
That’s why the MRC launched a special website, ObamaCareTruth.org, dedicated to getting the facts out on the government’s attempt to socialize our health care system. Facts the liberal media don’t want you to know.
++ A Grassroots Citizen Call to Action!
Now the MRC is launching a national “Demand the Media Tell the Truth About Government-Run Health Care” petition. In the days and weeks ahead, we are moving to quickly mobilize at least 200,000 grassroots citizens to demand objective and balanced reporting on health care.
Join us now in this important effort by clicking here to sign the petition.
Most members of the liberal media haven’t even read the health care proposals! But that isn’t stopping them from acting as cheerleaders for this latest big government power grab.

David, we can’t afford to be silent—giving Obama and the media carte blanche to reshape our nation into a European-style socialist state. We must fight back with the truth—exposing liberal media bias that is misleading millions of citizens into thinking we need to tear up a health care system that people around the world wish they had access to.
Click here right now and become part of our proactive, grassroots team that is calling out the media and demanding they actually read the health care bills, then tell the American people the truth about ObamaCare!
++ Alert your Friends and Family
Obama will keep the pressure on Congress to send him a bill that will radically change the U.S. health care system. That means time is short. After signing the petition, take a moment and forward this message DIRECTLY to 30-40 friends and family—urging them to take action with you by clicking here.
A firestorm of protest can make a difference—especially when truth is on our side. Give your friends an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the critical health care debate by clicking here.
This truly can be a matter of life or death! Act now before it is too late. Our private health care decisions should be ours to make—not Obama’s, and certainly not the media’s. By working together, we can break this unholy alliance by demanding the media tell the truth about health care!
Thank you in advance for taking action with the MRC.
-----------------------------------------------------
If you find this a little biased and sick...Make doubly sure you have signed the petition...No silly, not this repub one...Any other one you can find! :-) It's just here so you can see the rabid rubbish you are up against...Cheers X

David I spent some time commenting on TRUTHDIG. Bob Scheer would comment on mine AKA FoggyJones we became friends of sorts, taking on the nitwits. Yet what did that profit them or me? Not a thing. For there was no moderation and most posting had their own agenda to chide and deride all who came in that was foreign. But I learned a lesson a bitter one at that, most sites are run for sake of making money. Don Hanzen heads up ALTERNET it too is a con gone all wrong, they make money having post after post refer to others post that is easy to follow along. But many of the things that post are just meant to stir up the troops; sanity for ALTERNET and TRUTHDIG too has little to feed the good sane and sound people in the world.

I have a code that I try to hold onto so I do not stir up the troops nor do I publish lies. I don’t run after the posted daily news I see not benefit in doing that for it simply takes too long to be critical of what some one else wrote. I spend my time reading what others have to say then get the drift which way I should lean to glean the real truth. I like Bob Scheer he has a good sense of humor and I saved some of our dialog that was funny but straight to the point. He is my senior by about 10 years and he has been in the publishing business all of this life. So that makes him an elephant and I am but a flea on his back. But when people seem to get on the same line of thought then banter around some to test how stern each other is that is about all it takes for me to become friends.

So this is what I wrote to him today and learned this from DAVID KORTEN one of the brightest men I have ever studied.

The Chinese Come Calling
Published on TRUTHDIG by Bob Scheer. July 29, 2009

Comment by Dwight Baker

Bob Scheer AKA Foggy Jones,

Must be hard to try to hide the clear efforts of the Predator Beast [the Bilderbergs] in language that can drift from the north to the south then tilt from the east to the west.

At this late date in American history WHY TRY? To muddle around with the English language just state the case right on every time? You have strong opinions not views like some. Your logic is raw to the core of reason for living a full life in the ditches and trenches of humankind misery and suffering.

Then to make matters even worse for you and TRUTHDIG along comes ARDEE, with proof positive in his mumbojumbo way stating he did not get it at all.

So is TRUTHDIG a public forum for informed discussion or just a want to be enterprise of reporting the news or regurgitating the news that was meant in the first place to confuse? My take on what I see and read simply put I don’t like that kind of supposed forum.

When tribes of men and women lose their words then all is lost. I know that for a fact and you do too. The American people need to hear the same words used over and over again so they finally get the picture. That is what I am doing and you should too, stop clowning around with trying to find other words to describe the Predator Beast. ARDEE is simply not smart enough to follow your intentions, god knows he needs to see things simply, If that pisses him off then so be it. Poor ARDEE is just one of the 350 million of us. Bob/foggy Jones we are in a war against the Predator Beast [the King of the World David Rockefeller] and no matter how long we postpone call him as he is and our seemed need to disguise that in a myriad of mum boo jumbo words the more we the people in the USA will be lead to the final slaughter.

The longer you and many others that have a tendency to muddled around with words that do not draw your readers to come into a good thought filled forum of understanding “ Then you and others doing the same injustice with words will ultimately loose”

Amy Goodman, does a like kind thing as she sits in front of a Camera emotionless.

So to state the similar case as you tried to do I would have said “Behind each one in that meeting stood [the King of the World Order the Predator Beast David Rockefeller] and demanded all that be done to set the stage for our Great and Abundant America that we call Freedom to be re-possessed by HIM and his clan called the Bilderbergs.

Last you shall find some comfort from the words of a Great Scholar, Statesman and a man of pure reason Fredrick Douglas and some of mine too.

This may be a Waterloo for somebody, but Obama looks more like Wellington - he's the one who holds the high ground. The Repugs are like Napoleon - trying to score a great victory that will bring them back to power, using the same old tactics that worked for them before. Even if they win a minor, temporary victory, it won't change the fact that their time is past.

It may be just as well if the current healthcare plan fails - the voters want healthcare reform, and the Republicans and conservative Democrats will get the blame for it not happening. After the next election, enough of those turkeys may be gone that the compromises that were made in this plan to try and get bipartisan support won't be needed. Then, a single-payer plan might make it through Congress - which is what we really need - and what the people want!

13 Republicans Voted To Allow Single-Payer Health Care In States
13 Republicans on the House Education and Labor Committee offered their support for an amendment, offered by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), that allowed states to set up single-payer health care systems.

Health Care Reform: 450,000 Doctors Can't Be Wrong
The U.S. has a catastrophically fragmented health care system that provides incentives for sick care instead of prevention. The system is in dire need of reform -- reform to save lives, to save families and money for patients and the health care system.

WOW. NOT AT ALL! THIS LANGUAGE SAYS THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY MORE
THAN A SET AMOUNT EACH YEAR FOR YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE. RIGHT NOW YOU
ALL HAVE MAXIMUM AMOUNTS THAT YOUR INSURANCE WILL PAY ANNUALLY AND THEN
YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN. THE NEW LAW WILL PROTECT YOU FROM HAVING TO PAY
MORE THAN SET AMOUNTS. YOU SHOULD BE SO LUCKY!!
Page 50 Section 152 -- Health Care will be provided to ALL non-U.S. citizens, illegal or otherwise.

THERE IS NOTHING ON PAGE 50 OR SECTION 152 ABOUT ILLEGALS. ILLEGALS
WILL NOT BE COVERED. THIS SECTION PROHIBITS DISCRIMINATION AGAINST
PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THEIR RELIGION OR GENDER OR ANYTHING ELSE.

NOT THE GOVERNMENT. AGAIN. YOU WILL HAVE TO APPROVE AN ELECTRONIC (NOT
ELECTRICAL!) FUND TRANSFER IF YOU WANT TO PAY YOUR PREMIUMS THAT WAY.
IT WILL BE THE PRIVATE INSURERS WHO PROCESS THIS, LIKE BLUE CROSS,
AETNA, ETC. HOW DO YOU DO IT NOW?

Page 65 Section 164 -- A payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in unions and community organizations (ACORN).
NO. THIS IS A PROGRAM WHERE THE GOVERNMENT WILL HELP EMPLOYERS WHO
PROVIDE RETIREE MEDICAL BENEFITS TO PAY FOR THOSE BENEFITS IF THEY
EXCEED A CERTAIN AMOUNT. IT'S A REINSURANCE PLAN THAT LARGE EMPLOYERS
REALLY LIKE BECAUSE IT ALLOWS THEM TO CONTINUE GIVING THEIR EMPLOYEES
RETIREE BENEFITS WHEN THEY RETIRE BUT NOT BREAK THE PRIVATE EMPLOYER'S
BANK. UNIONS OPERATE HEALTH PLANS JUST LIKE PRIVATE EMPLOYERS SO OF
COURSE THEY ARE INCLUDED. NOTHING SAID ABOUT ACORN HERE.

Exchange to bring private health care plans under government control.
IT IS TRUE THAT GOVERNMENT WILL HELP TO REGULATE THE EXCESSIVE ACTIONS
OF PRIVATE INSURERS WHEN THEY DENY YOU COVERAGE BECAUSE OF A
PREEXISTING CONDITION OR BECAUSE YOU WERE SICK. BUT DON'T WE ALL WANT
THAT? EVEN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY HAS AGREED TO THAT. THE EXCHANGE IS A
WAY TO KEEP OUR PRIVATE INSURANCE SYSTEM WORKING, BUT NOT ALLOW THEM TO
DENY YOU INSURANCE OR CHARGE YOU AN ARM OR A LEG. HAVE YOU EVER HAD TO
BUY PRIVATE INSURANCE BY YOURSELF? IF YOU DID, YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU
WERE EVER SICK, THEY CAN REFUSE TO SELL IT TO YOU OR CHARGE YOU A LOT.

SEE NY TIMESSUNDAY WITH THIS QUOTE:
Lawmakers of both parties agree on the need to rein in
private insurance companies by banning underwriting practices that have
prevented millions of Americans from obtaining affordable insurance.
Insurers would, for example, have to accept all applicants and offer a
minimum package of benefits, to be defined by the federal government.
Nearly all Americans would be required to have insurance. Lawmakers
also agree on the need to provide federal subsidies to help make
insurance affordable for people with modest incomes. For poor people,
Medicaid eligibility would be expanded.

Page 84 Section 203 -- Government mandates ALL benefit packages for private Health Care plans in the Exchange.
THERE WILL BE DIFFERENT PLANS FOR YOU TO CHOOSE FROM, BASIC TO
COMPREHENSIVE DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU WANT TO PAY. RIGHT NOW, IF YOU ARE
A MEDICARE BENEFICIARY AND CHOOSE TO BUY A SUPPLEMENT OR "GAP" PLAN,
YOU CHOOSE PLANS FROM A MENU AND THE BENEFITS ARE MANDATED AND
CONSISTENT.

Page 85 Line 7 -- Specifications for Benefit Levels for Plans = The government will ration your Health Care.
NO RATIONING HERE. YOU CHOOSE THE BENEFITS YOU WANT TO PAY FOR. ONCE
YOU HAVE YOUR PLAN, YOUR DOCTOR DECIDES WHAT TREATMENTS YOU NEED.
"BENEFITS" MEANS YOU GET HOSPITAL SERVICES AND LAB AND X-RAY. IT
DOESN'T DETERMINE WHEN OR HOW OR WHY. JUST LIKE THE PLANS YOU HAVE NOW
THROUGH YOUR EMPLOYER OR WHICH YOU BOUGHT YOURSELF. NO DIFFERENT.

Page 91 Lines 4-7 -- Government mandates linguistic appropriate services. Example -- translation for illegal aliens.
YES, LINGUISTIC SERVICES. NO, ILLEGAL ALIENS. NO SERVICES TO ILLEGAL
ALIENS. THIS IS A BLATANT LIE. THERE IS NO MENTION OF ILLEGAL ALIENS
HERE AT ALL.

Page 95 Lines 8-18 -- The government will use groups i.e.,
ACORN & Americorps to sign up individuals for Government Health
Care plan.
THE BILL SAYS "APPROPRIATE ENTITIES" WILL HELP WITH ENROLLMENT. DOESN'T MENTION ACORN OR AMERICORPS.

Page 85 Line 7 -- Specs of Benefit Levels for Plans. AARP members -- Your Health Care WILL be rationed.
NO MENTION OF AARP. NO RATIONING. YOU GET TO CHOOSE THE LEVEL OF BENEFITS YOU CAN AFFORD. ....S SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THEM AND CHOOSE APPROPRIATELY.....

there's no question about it that there are many concerns the american public have and should have before passing this proposal. i'm neither republican nor democrat, i'm just an american citizen and i want to know everything i can about this before i say yay or nay. personally, i'm planning on getting on with blue cross blue shield next year since i don't have an employer to cover my health insurance and it helps when a person keeps themselves reasonably healthy, doesn't smoke, drink to excess, not overweight, etc, because the premiums are lower each month and with the company i'll be signing on with, i know i can go anywhere because they're so widely recognized and i'll get excellent care.

Good luck on that Val. My husband has Blue Cross/ Blue Shield and his premium just went up $2,000. He has had for over 15yrs and has never had to use it. He will be canceling though as that is our mortgage payment1
