I no longer buy into our two party system; two sides of the same coin; so I guess I am not disappointed~ If someone can win the presidency in this country there is slim chance he or she is actually revolutionary or populist. Mike Gravel was my guy; and he was just made to look crazy. There's a lesson there.

I shutter to think of Republican rule after Obama. All the I told you so's, being thrown in our faces. Also, I am not ready to give up my freedom, which is what is next if Republicans rule. I may as well be in Hilters time, and Jewish, because we will not survive. The working class as we all have known it, will be dead. They want us dead, and will see to it. They want their own super race, and it is one without the so called middle class. I am scared, very scared. My hopes of a better tomorrow as dismal.

Americans need to take responsibility for what has happened in their political system. You have far too many "permanent" politicians who think they own the seats they are elected to. The only change that will happen in America will come from you, the people. Demand term limits .... no golden horseshoes for people who are not elected to serve consecutive terms ... the list goes on and on ....
And perhaps make sure that someone is truly qualified to run the greatest country in the world - Obama's inexperience is evident and he has to try and re-pay all the special interest groups he catered to in order to win this election .... you need politicians who will be proud to be elected and honored to be a servant of the people - which is what they are supposed to be ....

Obama did NOT repay the special interests after the elections with the bailouts or recovery act. The derivatives were up to about 100 when they went south. That means the corrupt deregulation that Raygun and bush created to w. bush and even Clinton continued allowed the banks to trade below prime loans as commodities to international banks. But when the bad paper was changed between investment bankers (robber baron republicans) they derived 100 times the value. That means that for every $1000 transferred to another bank, they wrote paper on that debt for $100,000. Then when the next bank got the bad paper they wrote it off to the next suckers at $100,000,000. So, the original $1000 was used by deregulated banks to write debt for $100,000,000. The worst part of it was that European and Asian banks owned most of the worthless paper started and guaranteed by the U.S. If the banks faulted on the insurance or guarantees, then the foreign banks collapse.

So, Obama made good on the bad paper that the previous administrations created with their bad laws. Now we talk as if Obama is spending money to help the banks, when in effect he saved the world banking system from total collapse. It would have been about 1000 times worse than the 1930's crash and instantly a world wide collapse of all markets.

We have lived through one of the worst periods of Corrupt Capitalism in the history of the world.

I think we should all watch Michael Moore's new film "Capitalism a Love Story" and think of who benefits from our pirate corporations and their corruption of our government, media, food supply, perpetual war, terrible education system, terrible health care system. I mean who you gonna call? Corporations to help you in a crisis? They got U.S. into this mess and they will make things worse for more profit every time is what we have learned, or at least some of us have learned.

Separate Corporate from State: Clarify the 1st Amendment to the Constitution to read Separation of Church and State means Corporate and State based on the same dangers from organized groups of rich and powerful people threatening individual rights and the integrity of our government. Not to mention all our military bases are there to protect corporate interests.

Eisenhower warned U.S. of the Military Industrial Complex and those corporations have taken over our media, government, lobbies, legislation, policy, CIA, and private armies to wars and controlling the world's resources and labor. They are worse than the "church" every could have been in terms of corrupt power.

who wanted Obama to be a Progressive, although
he should have realised full-well even before
the election that Obama is not a Progressive.
He's doing alot of doomsaying as well, expecting
that this country is going to go even further to
hell "when" Obama is defeated for a second term
in 2012.
It's not fair to write-off this entire presidency
when we're less than a year into it! I'm disappointed
in Obama because he's not anywhere near as socialist
as he needs to be, but it would take alot for me to
vote against him in the next election. It's people like
the author of this piece that are sowing the seeds of
destruction far ahead of time, by instilling a lack of
faith in the electorate.
Anything can (and will) happen in politics. It's only
September 2009. Trying to predict what going to happen
in November 2012 cannot be done.

I am not at all surprised at any of what has transpired since January...and it will get worse. I was not fooled at all; I just can't seem to understand how people can't see the writing on the wall. Is it because they get too wrapped up in their desire to see their own political, economic and social utopias come to fruition?

The military/industrial/corporate complex is America; it has been for a century at least and will be until the republic is no more. Sorry to be pessimistic, but it is reality as I observe it.

May our survival as a species and our quest for peace become reality.

For openers folks, just how long has President Obama been in office, oh thats right Eight months!? It took good old Bush 8 Years to create the chaotic mess he left the present administration, and he didn't even to work very hard at it. Bush just let Dick cheney, Carl Rove, and that whole sneaky bunch do the dirty work, while he sat back and watched.

When W came into office, he had a lot less to have to work on, and even started out with a budget surplus. What did W do, he blew it all in his 8 yrs., and gave big businee free rein. Big oil wanted drilling rights, they got them, any big business lobby wanted something they got it, from Bush!!

As for Glenn Beck, what can I say he's a right wing puppet, and the glory of it is that the half a...d twit doesn't even realize it. Beck goes out there in front of the cameras or a microphone and flaps his arms for TV and flaps his mouth for the radio, and just revels in the hatred and chaos he spouts.

With all this right wing extremism spouting forth these days, this once very moderate, middle of the road voter, is finding the other side of the pendulum looking pretty darn inviting!

The so called 'surplus' was a bad joke played on the American people by the Clinton administration .... the books were cooked as they used to say .... In fact to make things look like there was a surplus the Clinton Administration 'borrowed' money out of your social security fund and replaced that money with bonds that are now as worthless as the ones the Chinese are holding on to. As well they were pretty destructive to the computers etc. in the White House .... lots of damage done and GB made sure that did not happen when he transferred the WH over ..... How long had GB been in office when 911 happened AND the recession he took over only lasted about four months ...

He found the plaintiffs decided the plaintiffs had "standing" {legal interest] to advance the case. The first step, next is evidence gathering, folowed by the normal court process. "Our" last president was a child of privilege far removed from real world americans, who had a well paid judge stop the vote count in 2000 because "it would not be in George Bush's interest's to continue the count".

Now we have a president, elected by a majority of Americans, who came from a life of poverty, worked to build up the community he lived in - a public servant. I could care less if he was a citizen of the US or Texas :>). What it boils down to is this, his birth certificate has been certified, his mother was an american citizen, and if there were a shred of proof otherwise, the republican fascist party would have already trotted this out in headlines across the country during the elections.

Just to claify a comment made here, the one about both Dems. and Repugs. liking or even listening to Becko, the only Beckites I have heard have all been Conservative GOP's. Not a one Independent, Liberal, or otherwise on the left of center listens to the dreck that Beck spews forth. I can even see him laughing, along with Limpbaugh, about how they have snowed their audiences.

The comment about that"crappy" health care bill, in one form or an other mentioned here, is way off base, as any thinking person knows that the present one benefits the rich and the insurance companies.

I am all over this web and I CAN attest to the fact that independants AND Dems are listening to Beck .... in fact it was a Dem who voted for Obama that told this Canadian about Beck .... he regrets that vote and by the way ... how come it is not okay to demand transparency when it comes to the birth certificate, school records and senate records (which have been locked up but every other person running for President disclosed) but it WAS okay to be a truther? ,.... and I wanna know who the heck sits around and makes up all these names ....

Just realized that I should clairify something. I, an avowed despiser of of Beck and company have actually listen to him on TV. I listened until I felt a combination of anger and disbelief. Anger because he talked and acted like such an egomanical "preacher" of lies , half truths, and smirked at the camera's eye. He knew he had the already "preached" to croud, but just continued to whip them up with his hysterical rantings.

My disbelief came as I realized that there were really people who bought his rantings, lock stock and barrel. I had this wierd belief that most people couldn't be bought with Becks kind of commentary/rants. Guess I was wrong and people will believe what ever they want, so long as it suits their own needs and beliefs. It's really a shame it's come down to this type of person so influencing people. But to reiterate, to me Glenn Beck is a half a...d twit, and a dangerous one at that.

Update: judge David Carter is the San Diego district judge who's accepted the Saturo legal qualification case. He declared that discovery begins immediately. The lead plaintiff attorney stated she will start to issue evidence papers to the White House. This should be concluded by early October. Then tentatively begin in January the main hearing will start. Beings the celebrety puff media will stonewall this I'll keep watching it and pass it along. Just reveal your past, like all other prez canidates did, and avoid the Richard Nixon/Bill clinton syndrome. Show some honesty and transperency.

How can these repulsive repugs ignore the war crimes and traitor flavored evidence that 9/11 was demolition caused while the CIA chief from Pakistan, who sent $150k to Attah who piloted the plane into the 2nd tower, was having lunch with Chaney on very day of 9/11. Why is high tech thermate molecules found in the dust gathered on the 8th floor and higher up that was tested by Dr. Steven Jones.

There is real evidence for traitorous crimes never seen in American history or the world. We have real snakes, liars, and criminals leave government and their corruption covers up their past crimes while their conservative followers attack real people and good human beings like Obama or Kennedy.

I don't know where to begin with you Northern. Nothing you've said here has any truth to it, and you've obviously been in a coma for the last eight years or are so partisan as to be unreachable.

Had you been awake and keeping as close an eye on the Office of the President during George W's terms in office, then you would have known outrage. It seems however that a President can do any illegal, traitorous thing he wants with impunity, so long as he is a member of the Right party. Fortunately there's no statute of limitations on the crime of murder, so I'm hopeful that someday he will have his day in court.
