Action Alert - NYT Slams Single-Payer - Fails to Include Advocates Among 'Diverse' Experts, Lies, Lies and Pathetic Propaganda?

The New York Times devoted some rare space on September 20 to discussing single-payer (or Medicare-for-all) health reform. The result? A one-sided account of why such a system couldn't work. What's new from the house of idiot right-wing nuts and lies?

I was in the middle of posting this one, when I found out that someone had already done it..good on you David.I've read the NYT piece and it's written as if "no one knows what the result of a crazy single payer system-might look like..but d'ya know what it's gonna be real real bad".Well we do know what it looks like there are examples all over the world..and sadly for the far right..it is loads better than the alternative..don't be fooled by those whose ideology runs only from free market support to more free market support..the truth is out there ,it's easy to find..and a pox on the house's of the lazy thinker's and ideologically dishonest..
Right i'm off to work..i've got to spread evil and put in a stint on a death panel.

Passing off an opinion piece as fact is disgusting and irresponsible. That bimbo who wrote the article can't back u any of her claims because she pulled them out of thin air. The New york Times needs to be at news stands in the comic book section.

I'm beginning to not care if newspapers fold - they are becoming just propaganda pieces anyway. This sounds like our old friend Rupert Murdoch's doing - and you are right on, Jill - this IS an opinion piece - it is repulsive and disgusting to make it appear otherwise.

Just a clarification question. When you say, "What's new from the house of idiot right-wing nuts and lies?" are you referring to the NY Times?

that's because Single Payer is gaining steam among voters. The more we see of how nasty, cruel, and just plain orwelian these insurance companies and other "organizations" lie cheat and steal at the expense of the American people, well, that makes us mad and we think "why are we protecting an industry that has REAL death panels?" SINGLE PAYER NOW, screw NYT!

"Thanks David. The NYT is worthless crap!"...

I agree 193% Marion but it is a very dangerous vehicle, out of control and so many of the brainwashed right wing slaves believe the news that is NOT the news...

Pardon my bluntness, But what the hell do you expect from the Murdies? They are the media arm of the sociopath Republican guano crazies, that will fear monger and lie. Even if all they acomplish is being a 'dog in the manger' make sure nothing gets done so they can discredit Democrats, not the 'Blue Dog' closet Republicans, and especially President Obama that is the goal. Any thing that benefits the average American voter is a Republican/Corproate America loss, anything that hurts or at least does nothing to help average America before the 2010 or 2012 elections is a Republican win as far as they are concerned. They are power junkies in withdrawal and will sacrifice any or all of us to get back into power. No matter what the long or shoart term costs to America or her citizens.

Yes LLoyd...It really pisses me off that so many people, so much of the time mindlessly follow the 'party line'...Absolutely with no care for the rest of the planet, only themselves...A bitter pill to swallow, but fascinating to me that so many support a dying party but appear not to recognize the adverse consequences to themselves...

Compliant slaves to the profiteers they so blindly follow and support (at their peril), and who obviously don't care about their idiot slaves, the welfare of mankind, the lower republican order or anyone else...Baffles me!

Not following party lines includes democrats as well. They are just as corporate run as Republicans now. We need to stop cinging to this false idea that the Democrats are the Party of the people. When was the last time they did anything to help the citizens of this country? Blaming it on the Republicans does not apply anymore. it is not a valid excuse this time. The Democrats hold the President's seat, the House and the Senate. They are such an overwhelming majority they can pass anything they want, INCLUDING SINGLE PAYER, without a problem. so what's the problem? Why don't we have single payer? Because the Democrats, including Obama, are corporate owned and operated just like the Republicans.
We all whine about change but keep voting for the same corporate owned candidates, just different names. When was the last time you voted for someone who did NOT have their campaign heavily funded by corporations?
We are not a two party system. We are a one party system, the Money Party. Until we break away from that and stop clinging to the party we will only continue to get worse. Cahnge comes when we finally change our own behavior. Educate yourself and then vote. dont' keep voting for the couple of corporate candidates the mainstream media gives publicity to. You are only voting for who the corporations tell you to vote for. There were good candidates this last election and they did not win because Americans are good citizens and only vote for who they are told to vote for.. There was a good candidtae in the Dem primaries, only ONE who voted against the Iraq war and who supported single payer. Everyone wanted him but caved because they were told not to vote for him.
There were a few good Presidential candidates but we were told not to vote for them either, so we didn't.
We don't have single payer right now because we voted for a corporate candidate...AGAIN. The Democrats have absolutely NO EXCUSE this time. It is all in their hands, no one elses. Any failures this four years are completely owned by them.
But we'll vote corporate Democrat again.....

I'd like to have the opportunity to ask a youg man what was in his mind when he desideed to "work" in the army. I heard some words about self defence, in a forigner country? I refuse to understand this kind of self defence. It has to be a very strange kind of thinking to decide to take somebodies life, or to lose your owm, for a few dollars. Is very sad to see this kind of results of human education programs. Proffesional killers or mercenaries are known from thousend of years. This si our evolution?
