How many empires have "ended" with or shortly after exhausting themselves in an Afghanistan "campaign". Persia is actually on the list, as well as Alexander the Great. The British empire actually endured it, though the Soviet's did not, but both effectively ended being empires soon after. And the list is much longer. I could almost be in favor of it if it did help bring an early end to the American empire, if not for the lives cruelly and clearly pointlessly lost.

Oh yessssssssss, we can be very aggressive with our petitions & letters to Congress, but I know in my heart that most Americans (remember, only with a 3rd. grade level of understanding anything) still believe we should be where we are. :( Sad, but the truth.

How gullible can you get??? Believing the capitalist media, which is owned by the very people who benefit from the U.S. occupation (for the oil pipeline, arms sales, infrastructure rebuilding, etc.)! The war is supporting the government of Afghanistan, which is corrupt and mostly Northern Alliance warlords, and is as oppressive as the Taliban to women's rights (and human rights in general). And the U.S.-led occupation war is killing and harming many civilians and driving the survivors to support or join the Taliban. Supporting the war is like throwing fuel on the fire - but the people of the U.S. don't know that because they believe what they are told by the rich and powerful U.S. ruling class, instead of using their brains and questioning what they are told, and seeking alrternative information sources, and asking the Afghan people (e.g. R.A.W.A. - Afghanistan's oldest women's rights organisation) what they want.

Wake up!!!

Worth it too who? Afghanistan is not an oil rich country, we have not achieved what we went there for...... GET OUT! It is not worth losing any more friends or family AND it is not a war that we can afford, nor do we want to.

It is a horrible situation sitting on the fence... not knowing which is the best route to go... we cannot alow the Taliban and their cohorts to regroup again this would be defeating the purpose and those that would have died then would have died in vain... I think the best way forward is to open a door of negotiation as bulding bridges does not come about by continually blowing them up, but by crossing over them and building the road forward..
