Los Angeles - South African-born actress Charlize Theron auctioned off a kiss for 140,000 dollars, and the winning bidder was a woman, US magazine reported Friday. "My boyfriend is not here tonight," she joked before a smooch that lasted 20 seconds. WOW!?

Who is Charlize Theron?...Who is Albert Einstien?...Who am I?...Who are you?...

Credit where credit is due?...Idiotic attention seekers, film "stars" and drama queens rule the news...Why? and what pathetic people are we (not me, you?) to acknowledge their pathetic never ending need to be in our daily news in order to finance an imaginary life of bliss, ignorance and pleasure?...

It's not acceptable by me...Acceptable to you?

A person born into wealth, this waste of space couldn't get me to kiss her if she paid me. No, not acceptable to me, who gives a flying ----.

A flying what Sharen? :-)...I have no credibilty at all left on care2 so why not be brutal?...It will never cease to fascinate me that the everyday Gnus has fallen so low as to put creatures of nonsense above creatures deserving...

But that is the way of this very shallow world I depart, with pleasure... xo

Right on the money, David. Though I would gladly be in the middle of that sandwich, I can't imagine pissing away that kind of fundage or media coverage better spent in so many other places.

What is the controversy here? is it because she kissed a women? or because she sold the kiss? I am not getting it, and she did it for charity! can some one tell me what is that I am missing? she didn't kill the women!

'Tis odd, indeed, for charity to require a celebrity's kiss. But the whole thing wouldn't fly if WE weren't paying attention, would it ?

If this is the only way the greedy part with Money so be it! the end justify the means! I will kiss dracula if he will give me one million to feed those kids in Africa!

I think the money this gave to charity is a good thing. I don't get in to the whole movie star crapola. Seriously wouldn't have even known about this if not for you David. Really could care less one way or the other. Do agree the media could focus on more critical issues of the day. Apparently this is news and what people like to hear about. Locan you made me smile with your comment, I would imagine most males would love a sandwich like that! Good day all!

Pardon me for mentioning this but is this not the world's oldest profession?

This was never meant to open a Pandoras Box, and so...

I really do not understand WHY the news features such rubbish, and entertainment is now more important than facts?...

I write only of "local" Australian TV news here (I hope that yours is sensible?)...In a 30 minute segment we are supposed to swallow...

5 minutes of news...

10 minutes of sport...WHY, who cares?

5 minutes of the current value of the dollar and worldwide stock exchange movements...

WHY?...(What better way to educate our kids that the almighty dollar is more precious than life itself?)...30 years ago 'we' elected a government to look after our finances for us and if we really wanted to know what our shares were worth we bought a newspaper...

The final 10 minutes...Absolute celebrity rubbish and of course the mandatory weather report, including yesterdays weather...I was here yesterday!...Often topped off with a lovely mindless story about a sick Koala Bear who got well...or a new born Panda...(Cute or mindless?)...

Is the news we don't choose sick or not? :-)

Ooooops, I should add that Oz also has SBS news, a world beater of sub-titling 'foreign' movies and unbiased world news...Don't believe me?...Google it :-)...

Another direct hit, David, my friend. Though some critics on another story/post of yours would have everyone believe you can't possibly comprehend the "unique American experience," I find we have much, much more in common and I thank you for your tireless efforts to prove such.

(I would have just sent you a green star, but apparently, I already have.)

Just think how loved (and kissed) you'd be, David - if only you were an "attention seeker"...and I know I wouldn't have to give you $140,000.00 to get that kiss either! Smmmmmoooooooooooooooooches!
