In place of health care for Americans, there will be more profits for private insurance companies. In place of peace there will be more war. Obama's credibility is shot. And so is Congress's, if it ever had any. The rest of the world doesn't count?

Thannxxx David... eventually the wineskins of greed have to break.. Boycott elections if one does not like the outcome... the people of the US have the power in their hands to manipulate an outcome...I don't believe that Obama's credibility is shot... he is more of a deep thinker when making decisions and prhaps it is better to be slow acting rather than more haste and less speed.... in that way the world will count America in and not the other way round

Obama's credibility is not shot. Sometimes strategic planning requires you to compromise in order to get your foot in the door. As far as Congress goes, the basic idea is valid--it's just that the people filling the positions are often corrupt. The "Congress Problem" could be partially solved by invoking term limits, and more focused campaign finance regulations.

David, as you know, his credibility was shot with me before the election. However, many of my friends campaigned and supported him for the Presidency. Their mood is one of feeling betrayed. His appointments of people from Monsanto and the pesticide lobby were appointments that are completely in his control ss they do not have to be confirmed by the Senate. He has gone from being a phenomenal speaker with a message of hope and unity, to a great speaker without a discernible message he has created division not unity. When he appointed one of the most partisan people of either party, Rahm Emmanueal, any hope of building unity was greatly lessened. As someone who dreaded his agenda and thought he would quickly and competently work to represent those that elected him, I, for one, am shocked at the lack of direction and lack of follow through. Of course, we can all take solace, me included, that Palin isn't in the news as much as she would have been as VP, but that kind of solace isn't what most thought they would feel at this point in his presidency. Congress, well whether it's the Republicans or Democrats, they demonstrate daily the need for a third party.

Obama's credibility is definitely not shot in the eyes of the world. He is our only hope that sanity will be restored to the government of the U.S.A.
However he faces a very difficult task in overcoming the widespread corruption, voracious greed, monumental arrogance, abysmal ignorance and primitive bigotry that plague so much of his homeland. Until something radical is done to remove your policians' dependence upon contributions from Big Business to secure their election their ethics will always be suspect, but already Obama has shown encouraging independence. Good for him!

Lionel, I hope that you are right. Particularly about contributions driving our politicians to serve interests other than their consituents... I am glad he still has credibility globally, hopefully he will live up to it. He is my President for another three years and I would like him to be successful.
