EESA greatly expands Treasury and Federal Reserve powers...Ignored is their criminal fraud. The harmful fallout to many millions, and the fact that $700 billion (now $850 billion) is a down payment with trillions more to come...Mainstreet beware! 10/6/08

Outrageous image, but so fitting, David. Yes, this long article will have to be read piecemeal by me throughout the day. But the message is clear: America has been robbed of everything except the salt and pepper shakers, and we're taking the world down with us.

Prices at the pump are down just to keep the natives from going ballistic. They will go up again after the election, IF we have an election...

LMAO Great pic David! The American people KNEW this so-called 'rescue' aka BAILOUT for the perps would be our financial armageddon, that's why the majority said NO to their Senators, Dubya, Paulson, their reps, and anyone else they cold call or email to. They did not listen to us, therefore, THEY ARE COMPLICIT in this RAPE of our resources and economy. Remember that come November and VOTE the bastards out--Democrat and Rethuglican alike. Any incumbant that voted to kill this nation financially needs to be taken out of office!

As for gas prices, they haven't come down here at all yet. We are still at 3.85/gal. and we live RIGHT HERE in the midst of the refineries!!!! Go figure...just another of Dubya's ways of giving us he finger on his way out the door.

OOOOOBabyBaby, don't tease me. I look away as this came up, and when I looked back I knew immediately that it was one of yours David, ROFLMAO!

Over 200 years ago, Thomas Paine wrote a treatise on government in which he said "a republic is supposed to be directed by certain fundamental principles of right and justice, from which there cannot, because there ought not to, be any deviation. (It) is executed by a select number of persons, who act as representatives, and in behalf of the whole, and who are supposed to (govern) as the people would do were they all assembled together....

When a people agree to form themselves into a republic (they) mutually resolve and pledge themselves to each other, rich and poor alike, to support this rule of equal justice among them....A republic, properly understood, is a sovereignty of justice, in contradistinction to a sovereignty of will."

The problem with this is that we the governed (parents) haven't been watching over our representatives (children). We have let them get away with murder and steal from our purses. We have been very bad parents.

Excellent point Deborah. We are so far from what our founders envisioned they they might want to start the revolution all over again - but would be arrested under the Patriot Act! And David, we all protested this bailout because we knew what it was about - covering up a corrupt banking system while the executives go to a $440,000 party! So - is this Bush's way of fiddling while Rome burns???

I think the Stock Market will continue to craah. Watch investors panic, and once it starts, it will trash the rest of our economy, and yet all of you want to elect Obama or McCain. Don Cordell has the truth of what is really happening in our nation. Elect an Independent that can save this nation, before we become just part of the United Nations New World Order.

I agree the stock market will continue to crash. If as some articles suggest the senate and house were threatened with a declaration of martial law if they didn't pass this bailout I suspect they were buying time to see who would win the election and be inaugerated. Or buying time so that an election would be held. I would love to elect a third party candidate, but we have no candidate that can win, so we need at least to get the republicans out of the whitehouse.
