"From 2010 to 2012 alone, approximately one-fifth of Africa’s elephant population — about 100,000 — was slaughtered by poachers, according to Save the Elephants."
"...young daughters assuming bigger roles in caretaking. Even females as young as 15 “tended to emulate the social contact pattern of their mothers”

They are adaptable, meaning they can survive.

Thanx Lone

So sad, they haven't learned all the secrets of where water and best foods are at different times of the year. The big old Grandmothers and mothers teach the younger ones down through the years. God help them and the terrible people who poach the big old mummas!

Oh hell Sue, I couldn't agree with you more!! This is horrible, beyond bloody unforgivable, our poor innocent animals are being wiped out at an alarming rate and your way is definitely the way to go!
