Secretly--or maybe not so secretly--we all want our lawn to be the greenest on the block. Having grass as thick and green as a golf course is a rite of passage for homeowners. But how "green" are your lawn-care practices?

We are so out of touch with reality. How many of us destroy the planet overfertilizing?

Florida is about to join other states limiting fertilizer - it is leaching the soil.

If we cared as much about our lawns the way we complain about global warming and our overconsumption of oil, we wouldn't have lawns and would go native plants.

Our subdivision recently authorized 'no-mowing' - we are allowed to go native plants, and some people are starting to do that.
