Very, very dangerous for the babies AND for the mother.

I hate to put a damper on this, but this is truly ridiculous. The danger to the Mom and the babies is astronomical. Humans are just not designed to have "litters" of babies. I know that sounds cruel, but it is the truth. Have you ever heard of any woman carrying this many babies, without the use of fertility medications? I just feel somewhere, someway, this is just plain wrong. I would hope that the couple realizes the dangers, and makes a decision about possibly not trying to carry all of them to term. I know that would be a horrible decision to have to make, but I just feel if they could that would mean they may be able to have some of the children, rather than lose all of them, and possibly the Mom also.

Sherbet... maybe Angelina Jolie could take note... then she could adopt some...

i'm with pam rhia on this one. this is something totally unnatural and dangerous. now whether or not something can be done...i have no idea. it blows my mind to imagine that family raising all those babies. definitely no easy task, physically OR economically!

Nasty comment about Angelina ... wasn't necessary ... she does wonderful work in this world, especially for children.

Way to go Blue, again. I just want to know why anyone would subject themselves to such a dangerous and unnecessary option? Maybe Octomom set the bar high and this woman is out to set a record. I hope G-d watches over all, mother and children.

I think it is time to have laws against this!

Once more, Nature has backfired whith doctors becoming richer... And no corrective measures are in sight to avoid these sad episodes from recurring.

"I think it is time to have laws against this! "

I think it's time we get back some basic common sense...

IMHO

She does resemble Octomom. The more babies a woman carries, the higher the chances of more birth defects, mental retardation(is this word still PC?), low birth weight and tons of other problems. About a decade ago a woman originally from Owosso, Michigan gave birth to 7 babies and about half of them still have life long disabilities, two still require tube feedings, several cannot walk, talk or live a normal life, some have had vision problems since infancy and those with the medical problems will need someone to tend to them their whole lives, never being independent upon themselves. No parent should or would want to wish this fate for their children. That mother refused to have any embryos reduced inutero due to religious beliefs, even though it would have meant healthier remaining babies in the end and yet she took fertility drugs and had already had another child a few years earlier, so it did not seem like a last chance effort to conceive a child as they already had one. Some people are greedy and use NO COMMON SENSE when it comes to fertility treatments. It is absolutely ridiculous to even consider trying to carry 12 babies at once. There need to be laws against this type of reproductive stupidity as it is the children who are forced to live a defective life until their demise and often at taxpayers expense. There are fertility drugs on the market that ensure twins or triplets are the outcome of their treatment and not 6- 12 babies at a single birthing, whatever became of those drugs?
