Sea Shepherd been too successful.....
"The assault is an attempt to deter the Sea Shepherd ships from their current position, blocking the slipway of the Nisshin Maru, preventing the whalers from loading whales poached from the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary"

Vicious blood thirsty killers....

All power to the heroes....Thanks for posting this update David....off to tweet now

Thank you David for posting. And thank goodness the damage was above the water line and can be repaired at sea. This has already been a bad year for dolphins and whales. Sea Shepherd needs all the vessels and help it can get.

It seems as if the Japanese will not be haay until they have slaughtered everything in the ocean. Given the decline of whale meats popularity in Japan, it seems that they are doing this out of sheer spite and because they can.
Best of luck to the Sea Shepherd's crews.

I watched Whale Wars on the Animal Planet a long time, when they were on. The Japanese ships are really nasty in what they do to the Sea Shepherds, even purposely plowed thru their small boat and cut it in half and left the crew to drown. I wish that someone would rid us of that scourge of whale killers.

Japanese Big Business is at it again. When will they learn by destroying one part of this earth, the rest will be destroyed too?

It is time the United States and other nations take action against Japan for their whaling activities. I believe they should use trade sanctions against them.

They claim to be studying the whales. Research, ya know. The Japanese want to be "good guys"....send them over here to clean up the radioactive crap that is now washing up on our Pacific shores!

Spammer flagged! Sea Sheppard does a wonderful job against the killing ships of the Japanese, yet it's not enough. Until the United States and others take action this will continue. And China is just as bad w/the killing of sharks. WHEN WILL OTHERS RECOGNIZE THAT KILLING OFF THE OCEANS & ALL IT'S WONDERFUL CREATURES WILL KILL EARTH & ALL OF US?!

Those Japanese morons never says the truth anyways. Who could believe those scumbags always goes after killing whales and dolphins in the ocean.I have no sympathy with bastards like some few Japanese who greedily ruins the planet earth and it's inhabitants as well. It looks like even the Governing bodies are helping murder these magnificent animals in the sea. It was being said that those Japanese whalers are still strong and surviving because the massive amount of funds they received from the people around the globe as their Tsunami earthquake relief. Most of those funds have being allocated to killing whales & dolphins, despite of the global outcry for them to stop this massive slaughter of innocent animals. In the future in any event if the Japanese people suffer from future massive disasters people should not contribute any money for that nationality. If any one knows personnally any one sure it is different from this massive amount of money being send to Japanese Government to support the civilians.?? and at the end most of the money has being allocated to killing whales & dolphins. Such cowardly actions are not acceptable in a civilized world. Don't ever help with money anymore to any future disasters of Japan...not towards the government or any political party.

I sincerely hope the Sea Shepherd is successful in their mission. I think the Japanese need to put more attention on The leak at Fukishima than hunting whales.

Just a correction to Gloria H sea Shepherd has nothing to do with Greenpeace which does not recognize Sea Shepherd. Greenpeace has not been active in preventing whaling for the last nine years. They are a disgrace to the conservation movement. If Greenpeace was to send only two of their fleet of ships to help Sea Shepherd the whaling would have been prevented long ago. This does not stop them from claiming Sea Shepherd victories for them selves.Despite the efforts of sea Shepherd to heal the breach they have been spurned at every time.Greenpeace shows a remarkable dog in the manger attitude and until they get rid of it the advancement of the effort to prevent Japanese whaling will take a lot longer to come to an end.HAIL SEA SHEPHERD.

Thanks David, hit the news a few days ago and I was wondering about Greg Hunt's surveillance plane...nowhere to be seen and no surprises there, not that it was ever going to work....Shameful. Sea Shepherd my heart and my prayers with you.

Hang tough, Sea Shepherd our heart are with you. The japanese and their "research" must be stopped. When is the US going to put its foot down and enforce the anti-whaling laws? I do not and will not ever believe a word that comes from the japanese. Every word out of their mouths is a lie.

Ann Breeden - The japanese have no intention of fixing their leaks. The money/donations/aid they received to rebuild and control their mess was used on new whaling vessels instead of reparations.

They are despicable.

I hope the Sea Shepherd records everything and takes them to court. Very evil people taking these poor innocent whales.
