Cats at the University of Virginia (UVA) need your help. At UVA training program for future pediatricians involves living animals. Students repeatedly force plastic tubes down tiny throats, often more than once per day. Please, sign the petition.

From the PCRM (Physicians Commitee for Responsible Medicine) website:

"Cats at the University of Virginia (UVA) need your help.

UVA is one of four schools whose training program for future pediatricians involves living animals. Future pediatricians repeatedly force plastic tubes down tiny throats. In the case of one cat, Fiddle, this procedure was repeated more than 22 times in one day!

While it is critical that future pediatricians learn to safely insert a breathing tube into an infantís throat, 98 percent of training programs in the United States use simulators that accurately resemble human infants. This allows the training to be performed multiple times until the physician gets it right, and doesnít harm a single cat!

You have the power to stop this! Please sign our petition to UVA president Teresa Sullivan to cease using live animals in pediatrics training! Iíd like to encourage you to forward this e-mail to your friends and family, too.

In this year alone, the efforts of PCRM supporters have helped stop this practice at five other programs, so your actions really do matter! We are in the late stages of our campaign against UVAís cruel live animal labs, and we need everyone to support us during this final drive.

Sign the petition now!"

Thank you!

Noted and signed - how terribly cruel and sad - why don't they round up all the animal abusers, including themselves and test drugs on them.
