Tom Cat's blog --- TC hopes to be back tomorrow full time, "God willing and the creek don't rise" as my pappy used to say! Today he is meditating at the highest service of the year at the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb!

Puzzle — 2:57 I fluttered by both of you today. I'm too stuffed up this morning to smell anything. Ok Jerry, are you going to Critter crunch us all?

MoveOn — I have a beef with this! How is this being a good corporate citizen? Or is that a term reserved for use in Canada only, whether it is true or not? We regularly hear about corporate responsibility or social responsibility from corporations, including banks. I may just check out the food area at the new Wal-Fart closest to me to see what prices are like here in Canada. Don't worry, won't be buying.

The New Yorker — I had this in my in box yesterday and had to laugh, but then isn't that what you're supposed to do with Borowitz and political humour/satire? When I read it, I wondered why people were so concerned about this as it shows Mr Obama as a gun owner, and not one that is likely to take away guns. I see a man with a gun, but I keep forgetting that Republican/Teabaggers see a BLACK man with a gun. You know, the US really needs to get over the racism, bigotry, and gun control issues.

The Hill — Does anything put forth by a Democrat survive the House? Republican/Teabaggers are an anachronism, taking the country backwards and thoroughlyxenophobic and racist.

Cartoon — "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." Notice it says nothing about 'fair'? Is that what Republican/Teabaggers use to justify not taxing the rich?

@ Alexandra --- LOL! I didn't know about it at first either, but the Church of the Elipsoid Orb is an American football field and the "meditation" refers to a football game. In this case The Super Bowl. I don't kno w if they would be classified as Holy Rollers, but if you're a fan, it certainly would be fun.

The article on TomCat's blog about Walmart was sure an eye opener. I don't do groceries at Wal Mart being a Canadian I prefer to support our local grocers. This Corp sure has grown up to be greedy!
I wasn't sure about the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb., but it is pretty funny to me that the meditation refers to football. Hope you will be back soon TomCat.
Thanks TomCat, Lynn and Carrie for passing this along to me.
