The last thing Sgt. Jesse Knott expected to bring home to the United States from Afghanistan was a cat. But this soldier and an Afghan cat he named Koshka were clearly destined to be together after helping each other survive a dangerous war zone.

This is not the cat from the article so don't be surprised.

Some of you have likely seen this article if you did your Freebibble click but I thought it worthy to give it wider exposure.

Too often, we ignore some of the other casualties of war like animals. But this is a short and beautiful story of survival of man and 'beast', although Koshka is hardly a 'beast'. It is a story of courage because aiding Sgt Knott was an Afghan interpreter who got Koshka to Kabul for a flight to the US.

Being a cat mum, I so appreciate the bond of love that brings survival.

Lynn i love this love story complete with hope and inspiration.
Barbcat said it for me, i would only add that angels can also be cats and it appears that this special angel did save Sgt. Knott in many special ways. Amen !

Beautiful story how a friendship between a man and this cat saved both of them! In the worst environment which is war, these two souls found each other and each gave the other love what brought them through such turmoil and violence! A beautiful, inspiring story full of hope! Just loved it. Thanks Lynn.

What a kind heart to nurse the cat to health and how in turn the cat repaid the soldier with comfort, companionship and healing dealing with an impossible war trauma. Kudos to his love and bringing him home.
