On the eve of the high-level Global Vaccines Summit ...MSF warned that high prices for new vaccines could put developing countries in the precarious situation of not being able to afford to fully vaccinate their children in the future.

"Manica Balasegaram, executive director of MSF’s Access Campaign. “Countries where we work will lose their donor support to pay for vaccines soon, and will have to decide which killer diseases they can and can’t afford to protect their children against.”"

No child shouls be denied life saving vaccines.

Sorry i cannot agree with this. There are many sid effects from vaccinations. Please ask first the package leaflet and read this before you decide to vaccine your child or yourself.

Do you think organizations who are supposidly for children's rights would petition the UN on this critical issue? Where is The Red Cross, CARE, Save the Children, UNICEF? Worthless agencies controlled by the Catholic Church.

Thanks Lynn. Yes Jeanne..."many side effects"...and of course, this is documented, right? And Allan...The Red Cross, CARE (really?), Save the Children, UNICEF are all "worthless" organizations "controlled by the Catholic Church?" Of course, it's all the fault of the Catholics, isn't it? None of these organizations do any good, right? Isn't it funny that at EVERY major disaster, mass tragedy, mass catastrophe, the Red Cross is ALWAYS there doing, in your eyes, NO good. Really? These blanket statements are really hurtful to many, in addition to being total bullsh*t.

Nobody is denying that there can be reactions to vaccines. But the overwhelming evidence is that vaccines prevent any number of incurable diseases and have virtually eradicated so many that to not vaccinate is an exercise of poor judgment and unnecessary suffering for the gross majority, and necessarily puts so many at great risk.

Thanks everyone!

@ Allan --- And what proof do you offer to show that these organisations are all controlled by the Catholic Church? Believe me, I am no fan of the Roman Catholic Church, but that is a wild statement to make, unsubstantiated. The Red Cross has been doing good work for decades upon decades, as have its sister agencies like the Red Crescent. UNICEF is part of the UN, while CARE is yet another entity bringing relief. Its time to "put up or shut up" as far as your documented evidence goes.

I agree with jeanne s that there are many side effects from vaccines, possibly due to the fact that many contain horrors like Mercury as a preservative(!!!).

(Allan Y thinks the Red Cross is controlled by the Catholic Church? Also CARE, Unicef and Save the Children? Why? How? Where's the evidence? I'm not a Catholic and this isn't a Catholic country, nor is America so that makes it even more unlikely! Seriously - where's the evidence?

Allen Y, where in the world do you get this idea. Any facts or links to back this up with? Somehow I doubt it. While there are disputes about some vaccines many children don't have horrific diseases because the vaccines prevented this. Agree with Vicky P. Many thanks Lynn S., no child should be without basic health care that so many of us take for granted.

When will humanity learn that helping others with life saving medicine, vaccines and such is needed for all people. It matters not if they are in your country or halfway around the world. Their lives are just as valuable as ours.
