But in the 20 years since GMO crops first came on the market, studies have found that they have led to higher pesticide use, and no meaningful improvement in flavor, nutrition, yield or water requirements. Instead ... plants [are] living pesticide factories.

More and more countries need to stand up to Monsanto. Most areas of the EU do not allow GMOs to be cultivated. Now Mexico has joined the group. Good work Mexico! A total of 64 countries.

There is hope in Washington state, but they are up against, like California was, big money. Now that we know what companies are backing the 'no labelling' side, perhaps it's time for some boycotts.

I know I for one, appreciate companies that label their products. I buy non GMO soups and crackers, quinoa, pasta etc. and juice. It should be up to each individual to decide what goes into their body. Unfortunately, companies like Coke, Pepsi, General Mills etc find that checking and monitoring their supply chain is just too costly --- it reduces their profits. Doesn't it all come down to profits!

Washington state, kick some Monsanto butt!

Is America FINALLY waking up after a heinous media/political dumbing down phase where news of Katy Perry's new iHeart release party and Miley Cyrus' pregnancy scare are considered front page news?

Better wake the f#&k up once and for all! Since Americans have the memory of a goldfish, we had better stay awake this time!

Oh darn! Poor Monsanto. I hope they don't feel too bad or that they don't lose too much money. Poor Monsanto-destroyer of so many things.

I sincerely hope Washington state will be able to achieve what we(CA) could not.

I actually donated to the Washington campaign.

Good news but it is not enough.
Monsanto needs to be put out of business along with other like-minded companies.

Ty, Lynn.

Can no one in the whole world stop this damned company. Why can they ruin our water, poisoning our insects and play with our genes??

What's bad for Monsanto is good for the rest of the world! They and similar companies should be shut down as a threat to animal and (non-GMO) plant health. Thanks, Lynn!

It's been a long time coming, but we are slowly getting closer to sounding the death knell for this evil company. We just have to keep plugging away. Have faith people!

This is a good news piece. And having been born and raised in WA state, I'd like to think the people are as I remember them. Strong, level headed, hard working people who care about their health and the health of this planet. So, I will be routing for them all the way. And kudos to Mexico and HI for standing strong against Monsanto.

However, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like the EU is reversing their stance on GMO's. I posted a news story about this a few weeks ago. Here is the link for all who are interested.

So, the next question, for me, is: Will the money laundering bastards be prosecuted??!!
how often have we heard of this kn-ind of bullshit perpetrated by corporate people, banks, etc., and nobody gets indicted, even?

Keep bad news for Monsanto coming thick and fast. The more attention is paid to their failings and the more becomes known about their criminal ways, the more they will hurt. Once the spotlight is focussed on them worldwide, they can't get away.

Great news. I would love to see this company drummed out of existence altogether. Watch out for Nestle while you're at it. This is another horrific company who believes that no people anywhere have a right to "free" clean drinking water. These nasty corporations never cease to amaze me. Noted and shared.

That their corn is actually registered AS A PESTICIDE with the EPA is absolutely disgusting..its just proof the govt doesnt give a shit about us..(look at what the bastards did today giving the banks and wall street the chance to screw us again with no consequences)
I hope WA is educated and demands labeling! Then the momentum will spread!
I donated a little too and have protested and tell everyone i can about GMOs as many still dont know what they are or who Monsanto is..sadly many dont care.
Thx Lynn!
