I happen to be allergic to grains and feel much better when I don't eat them Genetic engineering has stiffened my resolve....I haven't eaten corn products for years but occasionally succumb to really good bread. I'm not buying US grown rice for my family either.

Canadian farmers went on record in 2003 against Round-up ready wheat.

The National Farmers Union gives10 reasons they do not want genetically engineered wheat to be OKd by the Canadian government..

Hi, Elena! It was 7am Paris time when I saw the Organic Consumers action alert they'd sent me. When I tried to post it, your post came out!
Glad it was you who got it out on the C2NN first! Green stars to you!

I'll try to get more notes for this by sending to all my friends.

The logic behind GM crops is to provide food to the increasing world population.Governments are not sincere in implementing population checks. Therefore, we need to grow more food and reduce pesticides hazards. As a scientist, I donot oppose this move. But GM Foods when come for animal consumption, these shopuld be fairly tested before bringing to market. There should be very rigorous tials and all safety measures should be taken into consideration.

Monsanto NO, No,. This company is so bad it ignores global warming, It is a pesticides haven. If they couldn't control with chemicals, they will try with wheat. Before testing is done I sure hope they fine a way that does not cause innocent animals to die, but since they use animals to test I sure they will think of some new way to torture some more poor animals. I hate companys that animal test.
