What a sick POS to do this to Ms. Leitner and her family.!!! How a person can stoop so LOW to steal/burglarize her home and take what's precious to her/family, is just vile. Hope they catch these POS' and put them in jail w/a heavy fine.!!! Thanks, Barb for this story. xoxox

Congrats to Cheryl for her achievements, and I hope she gets her stuff back. That her own bf would do this is just disgusting. SHAME on ALL that were involved. I agree with babr, I have a feeling she will get at least her medals back. thanks Barb!

I wish the best for Cheryl and her family...Hopefully, her things will be found and returned...Just another sad story to show how low, some humans have sunk on the rungs of a decent society...People are getting lower, and lower every year...

This is so familiar! The robbers wait for funerals, or tragedies and then they take advantage of peoples absence and burglarize their homes. There is no feeling, no consideration, just self interest and it goes on all around us! Why are you even surprised?

Thanks, Sweetie. I certainly hope she gets her belongings back and her medals too. People truly getting meaner all the time. What gives with that anyway?

Yes I hope she gets her mementos back. What a sad day for her. Addicts are a bad lot to deal with when using. I hope new security is put on her home. Thanks for the post.

Noted Barb and thanks for sharing. Such a shame if it turns out it is someone she knows..that kind of makes it a lot worse knowing how hard she worked for those momentos from previous Paralympics.

Well done Cheryl, congratulations! Thank you BarbCat for letting everyone know about this sad story, what makes it worse is the fact that her boyfriend was involved in the burglary - what a sick person he is! I am so sorry that her beautiful dream of competing in the Olympics in my country has been destroyed and that winning the gold medals only to have them stolen is beyond words - she must be devastated! I can only pray that whoever broke into her house has a moment of conscience, if only to return her medals - I live in hope!

I sure hope that boyfriend is an EX-boyfriend now!! Maybe he will grow a pair and bring her medals and ring back!!!
