For animals enslaved by circuses, it's hard to consider anything short of liberation to be a "victory." But thanks to your letters, tracking animals in circuses will now get a little easier. The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS)

This is many steps in the RIGHT direction! I admit, I thought this meant that ALL circuses were being FORCED to SHUT DOWN but let's after all... ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY....

Still doesn't change the cruel methods used to train these poor animals, but hopefully it can provide some better treatment for them.

Very good news Barb, but we cannot rest. Only a complete ban will spared animals in circuses from further suffering.

This is encouraging news as it will allow more supervision of these animals by APHIS and greater transparency as far as the health and condition of these animals is concerned. But, what really needs to happen is the banning of all animals used in circuses!

Theres a circus in Orlando right now and ive sent letters to the paper advertising and to the place hosting it informing them of what goes on behind the scenes..if they didnt already know of course..and of course no responses back..just have to keep informing people so they will stop going and maybe the circuses will get the hint. The local news was showing the elephants walking down the main street and i just wanted to jump in the tv and yell at all the people standing around grinning...
At least some groups are protesting and our letters worked!!! We need to keep it up!
