When Vanessa Waite adopted Alphie the kitten, he immediately developed an unusual passion for television, watching it for long stretches at a time. But Waite says she didn't realize that Alphie was apparently most interested in the unit's antenna.

Alphie is one lucky, little baby!! I hope he grows out of this phase!!
We rescued two sibling kittens and they had a fetish for rubber bands and plastic bags! They will be 5 in July, but I still have to hide the rubber bands that come on the newspaper and any plastic bag that comes in the house.

TY Barb. I would never have thought this possible. Alphie's mom has her work cut out for her. I'm glad he's OK.

Wow. So glad kitty is OK. A friend of mine kept a needle and thread in her medicine cabinet for last minute emergencies and one morning while getting ready for work, with Max the Maine Coon cat on the counter helping her, she noticed the needle and thread was missing. She looked everywhere for it and determined Max must have swallowed it. He acted fine, but she rushed him to the vet. The vet said if he swallowed it, he would be in pain, but wasn't so he didn't want to do any xrays. My friend insisted on xrays, and sure enough, the needle and thread was in his stomach. It was a very expensive surgery, but Max made it and the needle and thread went into a plastic case on the top shelf of the medicine cabinet.

Sadly we lost a young tortie to what turned out to be electrocution. Once the vet nailed it down (burns on tongue and one paw) we searched the environment for shorted cords and lights/appliances that wouldn't turn on. Nothing. NOTHING! We are now trying to line up a diagnostic electrician.
