Your life is either going to count for something--or it is going to count for nothing. The world is intolerable. It is crying out for justice. Don't look away from it.

As I started college in 1969, my generation was intent on doing away with the military industrial complex, ending war, establishing racial equality, spreading peace and love, mind expansion and living in harmony with the earth. We were vocal and committed. With few exceptions, I don't think today's youth are concerned about much beside ipods, alcohol and who wins American Idol. Somebody please prove me wrong.

My Generation was the GREENPEACE and AMNESTY Generation; and I still belong to both, or support both causes. I seek to make a difference in this WORLD by always standing UP for the TRUTH and for JUSTICE. Helping those who are VOICELESS VICTIMS, as Care2 expresses. I believe that we who CAN, should speak out for and provide for those who are the voiceless creatures. ie: Animals, Battered Women, Children, Prisoners of Conscience who are TRULY Innocent. This is what I HAVE done in my past, and still (to a certain extent) DO with my LIFE. Namaste. I see the Face/Light of God Within all Creatures.

I wish I could Edwin, but unfortunately too much of what you said about today's young is true. Too many people I know "shelter" their children so they have no idea what's going on in the real world. For little kids that's great, they lose their innocence too quickly anyway, but I grew up in the Bay Area during the Vietnam war and had a teacher who woke us up to the real world. She was an antiwar activist, lived in a commune and played protest songs all day. We talked about current events and we knew what was going on out there. My son is 15 and knows more about the world than most of his cousins and friends because I don't want him to be blind as to real life. I stand up for what I believe in - peace, love and harmony among all living beings - and he's learning, but I'm teaching him. Sheeple parents have sheeple children. Not mine!

Tassa, I've always been concerned about the injustice in the world and will stand up for what I believe in no matter whose feet I step on, because if we don't stand up who will?

I'm sorry to say this,l but I doubt anything you can do, will alter the ultimate destiny of this planet, but please, try.

Although I may be one voice, there is no way I can sit back and just let the injustice of the world go by. I want to leave the world a better place than when I found it. I want to help get this country back on the right track so people can once again walk with pride, security and sense of purpose. I will recruit every person I can to do the same thing. That is what I hope to accomplish.
