I think that this cause is just not visibly sensational enough for a lot of people - even though it could cost them or a loved one's their life. Go figure.

Know what you mean Tj--I have had chronic hep C since 1973--I am about to go through my second round of chemo/antiviral with some other drugs thrown in just to make sure you are really miserable for a year and 1/2. The worst thing about hep C is altho I am really healthy right now with this disease you never know when the "switch will flip" and you get liver cancer or failure. So you live with some uncertainty that you try not to think about, I refuse to let this disease rule my life. But no this is not like AIDS--it's not out there in the headlines everyday like AIDS was when it first hit. The social stigma is the same and for this reason you probably know many people who have this disease who just won't admit to it.
