One would think an interim executor/custodian/guardian/conservator would be put in place rather than declare the man dead after such a short time. It used to be there was a 7-year wait when someone was missing before they could be legally declared deceased. Such a statement on our society!

I had to think before commenting - but still, all that comes to mind is money!!!!! If my husband went missing I would NOT want him declared dead - I would INSIST on more searching.....god only knows this family could afford it.
Like Barbara said - what happened to time limits? You can't even report a person MISSING until missing 24 hours - even if you KNOW there may be foul play.
I don't mean to sound bitter but I really think they should wait and dismiss this motion.
