What is happening to Congolese women and girls is more brutal than traditional rape. Their injuries are so severe that they require surgical reconstruction of the genitals. Why, then, is this disgusting violation of human rights going unreported?

Sadly Jessica it is not that this story has not been reported. It is that it is a story that the West chooses to ignore and the MSM does not think that their audiences care about. The group Women for Women International has brought attention to this. http://www.womenforwomen.org/mltdrc.htm

Many of these atrocities are being committed by the same soldiers who fled from Rwanda after the massacre.

The IRC has reported the facts! The International Community has known about these outrageous atrocities and yet nothing has been done! I do not understand what the International Community is waiting for? By virtue of the fact that nothing has been done to protect the women in the DRC , then are the world leaders saying that women are not worthy of protecting? What is the price tag on a human life? on suffering? why are billions of dollars spent on ridiculous programs when here is a pure example of CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY that needs to be stopped! WHAT CAN WE DO? SURELY OUR COLLECTIVE VOICE HAS THE POWER TO EFFECT SOMETHING POSITIVE!

Whenever I think I've seen the worst, more hell comes along. I hope and wish and pray that somewhere someday all those women and children will know peace, health and happiness. My love to them!

saddened and horrified, that there are men who can give in to their baser self, it doesn't help them in the end for what they sow they also shall reap. Govts. Media would like to keep it swept under the carpet so to speak. Me no see,me know hear, me don't want to know and put it in the too hard basket.
