You would hope they would in good faith not accept any increases until the taxpayers are burdened less. However, I think I will contact my Senators and let them know my thoughts on this. Suggest we all do the same. Thanks for the story.

Just watched video 's on Brian's blog , poeple on the reservation make about 400$ a year , their electricity bills are enormous , if they cannot pay , the meter gets taken away , . I don't think a raise for senators is that nessecary !

When I worked at the Capitol everyone ,well not everyone but most would think that Tour Guides got a raise when Congress gave themselves one. If that were true I would have had money! Pay was Good Not that good. A lot of people think if you work there you make a lot not so. The police officers is fact make less and have a lot of requirements.Oh sure there there may be a few old tipple dippers around. I think no pay raise for all 3 branches of government.

I would support a petition. With regard to people thinking you make a lot of money or are wealthy based on an assumption, I completely get that. Happens to a lot of people for different reasons. It's total nonsense to assume. Again....thanks for the article.
