Yes, this is funny but unfortunately it shows how ridiculous some calls can be - when the service needs all its lines on "emergency rush hour" days... thanks Suzybell!

PS on the other hand for things like wasp nests in the garden, which are not necessarily emergencies but can be a danger for people and pets, it is a pity but it seems that there is never much promotion about the RIGHT number to call! (not just the emergency or fire brigades...) If I had a wasp nest (and I am allergic...), I would have to really hunt up the number, it would not be right in my head like "911" ...

I thought everyone knew that when you call 911, it is for a life or death situation! EMERGENCY SITUATION ONLY! What has gotten into these people? Just last week someone was arrested for calling 911 over an incorrect order from a drive thru fast food chain.

And why can't 911 calls that are considered non-serious cases be transfered to the proper department? For most people their pet is quite important, and a swarm of killer bees may cause lots of pain and suffering!

awww, poor woman! I don't know what I'd do if my hamster escaped...which she actually has done in the past (but her home is in the spare room behind a door that's always shut, so we find her shortly after). If this hamster escaped, depending on the type, he/she would find it very hard to survive in our climate and nature, and would probably die! No wonder the woman dialed 911, I would too...

I agree with Christoph we need a way to call for emergency for animals. Mobile pet care and rescue.

Why does this woman want to keep an animal locked up in a cage at all?.
