In one of the Obama administration's more dubious environmentally related moves, they've decided to uphold the Bush ruling stating that gray wolves are no longer an endangered species.

But there are only 1650 gray wolves in existence. And now that they're no longer on the endangered species list, there are soon going to be a whole lot fewer: some of the state governments where they were delisted are gearing up to kill the wolves by the hundreds. Even though wolves are all but entirely harmless to humans, they nonetheless are loathed in many regions of the Midwest because they kill livestock and create fear in communities. So in Montana and Idaho, the states where wolves have been delisted, many are gearing up for a much-anticipated wolf hunt.

It's often an inexact science when it comes to determining how big a population needs to be before it's considered stable, many scientists feel that there should be at least 5,000 gray wolves in the wild before they should be taken of the endangered species list.

But for now, unfortunately, the gray wolves are once again in danger of being hunted and killed to the brink of extinction. You see, all this has happened before: it wasn't so long ago that there were only a handful of gray wolves left in the wild. And conservation measures—widely acknowledged to be some of the most successful in the US—brought them back. Conservation measures enabled in part by the Endangered Species Act, which no longer protects them.

I personally do not believe we have heard the last of Pallin. She is too foxy and cunning to roll over. The damage she has done in Alsaka is shameful. The Wolves that has murdered is so shameful.

I wanted to sign but being from the ROI I can't. Good riddance to the sadistic raddled old corporate whore, if Hell exists may she rot for all eternity in it with Satan attending to her nether regions with a red-hot pitchfork and/or pincers. Although I suspect if she WERE to go there Satan would find himself banging on the Pearly Gates screaming "Let me in! I demand political asylum!!!!!.

The only good thing I have seen/heard from Sarah Palin was the demand for an apology from Letterman for his ignorant "joke" about a ball player raping her daughter. Letterman, and so many others, just did not/do not understand that the argument about the disgusting "joke"was not about which daughter but that he said it at all, reflecting on all females. I cannot sign the petition as I am from Canada. She is too close to my country and the fantastic wildlife found here. Our precious wildlife critters do not have to go through border crossings. Let Mother Nature achieve a balance of population with the wolves and their prey and limit mother Palin to taking care of her own brood. I am so pleased that she resigned. A real quitter. Americans, please take note of her behaviour.

There is something so inheritely (Im not sure how t spell that) EVIL about that woman...I cant put my finger on it as there are so many reasons I think this...however, good ridence. Im not going to wish her good luck with anything she does because karma will take care of everything...whenever it is meant to happen, it will.

Although I'm sure we haven't heard the last of this sorry excuse for a woman and parent, at least for a while she won't be able to cause too much more damage to her state and our country.

Still waiting for that other shoe to drop, and drop it will. She's not the type to go quietly into that good night. She's up to something and I'm sure we won't have to wait too long for her next incoherent speech about how she's found her "higher calling".

As foolish as this woman comes across, her veneer can be polished if the GOP want to put her back out there for one reason or another. What's so really scary is how cold she really is, but to some how she's seen as warm and folksy.

Her illogical reason for killing the wolves is totally wrong and invalid. Wolves keep the herds healthy taking out the old, sick, injured and the young. By keeping the unhealthy alive to breed, Sarah Palin has made the herds unhealthy and more sickly and in time will actually reduce the number in these herds, along with all the caged hunts she had planned. And don't forget that she has allowed the killing of wolf pups even in the den, something illegal last I still knew in Alaska. I am a member of Defenders of Wildlife and appreciate all the work they do to help out our fellow travelers while on this journey called life.

People like Sarah do and have done more damage than they will ever realize. Too bad we cannot put her and her family and other like minded people onto one of those ever shrinking ice flows she denies are melting in the global warming problems the polar bears have been delt. Maybe then she might just wake up to reality. But i doubt it. You Betcha!

Thank God she is no longer govenor-but the wolves may still be at rish. It all depends on what the new govenor wants to see happen. Hopefully he will be a kinder person and stop the aerial attacks on wolves. But for those of you who are not aware-please read article in August 2009 Vanity Fair about Sarah and see if you agree with the author. Maybe people will see her for what she really is!!!

The killer is gone - but she will be back! And Obama will be there with open arms! He is as bad as Palin as far as I can see. To delist the gray wolves is a disgrace to his administration. Giving in to politics for the sake of fewer than 1700 beautiful creatures!
