This is horrible! I remember as a child going to the Mound in Moundsville,W.Va and I learned a lot we can not continue to destroy our historical treasures in such a way.For what a Sam's /wal-mart?

It's not enough to virtually wipe out the entire race of Native Americans, but now they have to dig up their ancient sites and use them to build shopping centres?! Did these people not watch Pet Semetary...? I hope something like that happens for real...

White man's greed -- nothing surprises me...
Sad that our spiritual beliefs are not honored -- how many church cemetaries have been dug up for expanding merchants? Awww...it's different for them to do what is/has being/been done to the original americans!

I'm not surprised by this story. Crooked politicians would tyy to dig up Forest Lawn if Wal-mart offered them enough money. "The newspaper detailed the financial ties between the CDA, firms it does business with, and Mayor Smith’s political campaign." Blatant government corruption is now the norm in America. It used to be that politicians tried to avoid "even the appearance of impropriety." Now they prostitute themselves to big corporations, then get cushy consulting jobs working for them later. Like Rep. Billy Tauzin, R-La., who stepped down as chairman of the House committee that regulates the pharmaceutical industry to become the president and CEO of the drug industry's top lobbying group. Billy just got his powerful drug lobby a seat at the health care table.

For heavens sake is there no respect for the dead left in this Country. It's all about money. They are digging old cemetarys and reselling the graves,Also they sell the bronze flower pots and grave markers.I know that God is watching and I hope that they realize it too.

Thanks Suzybell. I am always distressed when an archaeological site must be destroyed so that "progress" can move forward, though I realize that not all can be preserved and that most have to be excavated, catalogued, surveyed, photographed, their contents removed to museums, and then they disappear only to be kept in written memory.
Has this procedure been done for this site? or is this like I feel, an example of public rush for money... very sad.
