There are still some food products which do not cause cancer. It's a matter of self-education. I hope John O changes his mind of not minding aspartame and the like. I really want to live my life, longer, better and happier.

It's not that so many things cause cancer, its the concentration of things that will cause cancer. Hey here's a thought: Why not make it illegal for Food and Drug industry employees to work at the FDA?

I wonder if that's the advice that John O is giving to his children, if he has any.

It is quite amazing how money always gets to be the deciding factor in whether some product is to be used. It does not matter whether the substance is actual food or whether it is just some inert substance that has the potential to cause discomfort in a graded scale upwards to actually causing death. As long as the dollars can be made, it appears that the bank balance is what counts. You don't count.

For those who say, "Eat Drink and be Merry for tomorrow we die" It is so easy for this glib saying to roll off the tongue as if it did not matter but when it is YOU who are the one suffering a debilitating dis-ease, only then will your stupidity turn to "Why Me?" Then it will be a totally different story.

Nothing should be taken into the stomach that is either a drug or a toxic substance IF one does not want to have to pay the cost of the foolishness and deleterious behavior. Most sickness can be avoided by being a careful selector of what you ask your body to use.

This does not exclude using drugs for the suppression of medical problems BUT we are better off physically IF we only eat proper food without all the dumped waste from industry. Many so called vitamins and minerals are only artificial and have no food matrix around them for their proper assimilation. The body checks them out and then goes into the defence mechanism of eliminating these things from the body. This overloads the normal operation of the system and overloaded activity has the high chance of breakdown. The breakdown may not show for quite some time, even years, but then it hits with a wallop and we tend to fall into the PLOM factor, Poor Little Old Me. The unfortunate part about that is that it affects so many people, not just the sufferer, the cost can be enormous and the only benefits to anyone are the coffers of the drug companies get bigger and they roll in the dollars that are rightfully belonging to those who earned them.

Give yourself a break and your families a break, get some education on the subject but make sure you do not fall for the lies propounded by those who are only thinking of the dollars in their bank accounts. There was one drug manufacturer who was pushing the fact that their particular toxic load was 50% more effective than their opposition. The figures were actually 2% beneficial for one drug and 3% for the other. The figures looked impressive but 97% and 98% ineffective are not even considered because the dollars were the bottom line.

Just as a point of interest, artificially made substances, apart from often being downright damaging to the body system are NOT food. Crushed rock is actually good for you IF you happen to be either a worm or a cabbage. It IS your choice of what you do to your body, but do not ask me to pay for your stupid folly as happens here in Australia where the tax payer funds the stupidity of the masses who care little about their body but fill their bellies with junk and then collect their "sickness" benefits and do nothing to fix the problem themselves. Each one of us is responsible for our well being. For those who are born medically challenged, proper wholesome food intake does have the potential to improve your situation. I did not say that your medical challenge can be healed, just improved. I have seen it happen for others and even helped them personally. The change in their lives was truly fascinating and enjoyable to be part of. You have two choices, you either pay for sickness or you pay for wellness and I can tell you from experience that the cost of sickness is far far higher than the investment in Wellness.

Interesting article Suzybell. Thanks. The bullcrap around the approval of this substance sounds eerily like the same story told by Shiv Chopra from Health Canada on various Monsanto substances. The book is called "Corrupt to the Core - Memoirs of a Health Canada Whistleblower". It is a very interesting read and gives a lot of insight into the lengths that industry and government will go to to approve these substances with less than adequate testing.

There has been a very debate over aspartame and the possible risk of cancer. Plus there are many that have quit using it due to an increase of migraine headaches. I know I quit using is many years ago, due to the headache factor. Of course it seems everywhere we turn, whether it is to food, medications, what we drink, what we breathe, it seems so much is likely to cause cancer, you really don't know what to keep out of your body.

Thanks Suzybell that's one of the reason I buy lemonades without aspartame or make it myself I already knew it. It's so difficult nowadays ot even find beverages without that.

Go organic and whole, live food when you can . We must protect the children from their own parents sometimes, these toxins are serious and all over. Thx Suzybell.

I AM not very happy with Rumsfeld, we should expose him.
