A family in Mercer County says they found a spider in a bag of grapes. Vikki Spencer and her daughter Amanda Masotto, from Sharpsville, believe it was a black widow spider. The arachnid appeared to have the distinctive red hour glass shape on it

So what. Bugs eat fruit. We would have pay 5 X the price to hire people to sit and pick and micro inspect every grape - wipe off all the little critters that live in the ground with the plants we get food from. Complaints like this promote increased use of pesticides. THAT is what you really need to be concerned about! Your chances of dying from cancer from pesticides are much higher than from a spider bite. I do sympathize - black widow bites aren't fun, to say the least. But seriously, what are the odds? Some things you just gotta live with - LIKE NATURE!

Remember, spiders are arachnids, not bugs. lol but you have a good point Mary. We don't want pesticides used in our foods. You are also unlikely to die from a black widow bite. There are much more dangerous spiders in the US. I have never found one arachnid, or bug in my fruit, and I buy organic. It's very rare.
