A bit of history & background on how & why Rosa Parks became the symbol of defiance.

Some time before Rosa refused to give up her seat to a white man their was a very young black woman who refused to give up her seat. Her refusal was ignored & denied by black leaders & the media was arm twisted into not printing the story because she was pregnant and single.......In other words she did not represent the kind of symbolism blacks wanted in their quest for equality........

And these kind of "keep it quiet" stories have happened hundreds of times. In other words they want to look good no matter how they have to lie!!
Shades of the Tawana Brawley case involving Al Shaprton, and the Duke rape case.........
